Caring and considerate. Lucky I had my child 9 mos later thanks to him. He was the third IVF I tried.

I was seen by Dr. Steven Lindheim around 2005 as part of an egg donation program in Madison, Wisconsin. He sexually harassed me during the examination portion of our first visit. I was around 20 years old at the time. When I reported the incident I was discharged from the program and told it was because I was deemed psychologically unfit. -Cassie, 35

He assisted me with fertility issues in 1999. I am so happy with my now 18 year old child. He was kind and compassionate.

Dr. Lindheim is the best fertility doctor in the world. Unable to get pregnant for 9 years, start ed seeing him in May was pregnant by Sept. 18 months later placed last 2 eggs, pregnant with 2nd child. I adore this man!!

Dr. Lindheim is the BEST doctor I've ever been to! Worth fighting to see him if you are having reproductive issues, whether trying to get pregnant or not. Amazing!

We loved working with Dr Lindheim! We worked with him in OH and he always made us feel comfortable and confident with the process. We're forever grateful to him for sticking with us thru the failed attempts and giving us honest info and ultimately helping us create our family.

After 2 consecutive miscarriages in an attempt to conceive a 3rd child, my husband and I consulted an RE. We saw Dr. Lindheim and my first impression was not good. I will say that I felt better by the end of the meeting but that would not last. I was certain that my recurrent losses were due to PCOS. My cycles were very irregular in the past, I'm overweight, and unfortunately-very hairy. I also had a hard time getting pregnant with my second child until I started metformin. He decided in the first meeting that I had a structural anomaly probably resulting from a D&C. I had a minor, minimally invasive surgical procedure after which he said it was really not bad and probably did not cause my second loss. I got pregnant again about 2 months later and miscarried again. I was, of course, devastated. I spent a lot of time googling for any glimmer of hope. In my appt to make sure I was not retaining any tissue after the miscarriage, I asked about steroid therapy as I was grasping at straws at that point. He got very snotty with me and said that if I was going to go chasing any unproven treatment, he would just send me to Chicago for some treatment that is very questionable. His attitude was very hurtful. I don't care what he thought about my addiction to Dr. Google or the options I asked about...a little compassion for a woman who just suffered her THIRD consecutive pregnancy loss would have been nice. Recognizing that I was desperate and grasping at straws, but explaining in a kind manner (rather than seeming ticked off that I questioned his course of treatment) why the treatment I asked about was not a good idea would have been professional. I should not have returned to his office after that, but did. I got pregnant once again (no change in treatment-just go get pregnant) and again, miscarried. By that point Dr. Lindheim was leaving to go to Arizona and his colleague (and I believe supervisor) took over my case. Dr. #2 looked at me and immediately diagnosed me with PCOS, put me on metformin and 50mg of Clomid. I'm now the mom of 4 as we got a bonus!! Instead of a third child, we got #3 AND #4. Dr. #2 told me that a blood test alone is not how you diagnose PCOS. There are many factors to consider and Dr. Lindheim only considered blood tests. I had what was likely an unnecessary surgery as he did not know how to properly diagnose PCOS and decided the problem for my losses in the first few minutes of meeting rather than looking at all if the information.

I experienced a shocking lack of professionalism from this office. Tri-care patients, please be wary. Background: I was referred to Dr. Lindheim by my military Primary Care Manager, because I require care by a reproductive endocrinologist, despite not seeking fertility treatment at this time. When I first contacted his office, they told me they did not accept Tri-care (military health insurance), despite the fact that I had a referral from Tri-Care guaranteeing to cover the specific services, and had also called Tri-care to confirm. After two calls to make an appointment without success, someone felt bad and called me back and scheduled me for an appointment. They even offered not to charge me, in the unlikely event that Tri-care did not cover it. That was very kind. At the appointment, Dr. Lindheim went through his fertility pitch, in case I might be interested in the future, and also ordered labs to be drawn at my local military base. Tri-care did cover the visit. The problem: After having the labs drawn and forwarded to him, and ensuring that my referral was up-to-date and valid, I contacted his office to make an appointment so that I could get the results of my labs and get prescribed a new treatment. I was told he would call me back. He never called. Seven days later, I called to follow up and again was told he would call me back. Another week after that, I called again and left a message pleading with them to please at least inform me if he is refusing to treat me, so that I could request a new referral (it can take months for a referral to go through and then to actually get an appointment). I, again, reminded them that it was timely because I was not on any treatment. I have a diagnosis that requires hormone therapy for the protection of my long-term health. I never did hear back from him. I can only speculate whether they avoided me because they do not like dealing with my insurance or because they know I am not a prospective customer for highly profitable fertility treatments. I do believe a doctor should have a choice in who he/she treats, but to handle it through blatant neglect, while I worry about my health, is unacceptable and highly unprofessional. I will update this review if the doctor ever reaches out to me.

After a ten years of infertility which included two failed IUIs and a failed IVF cycle, I went to Dr.Lindheim with little hope. Well we were blessed the most beautiful 8 lb 12 oz baby girl. We will never forget Dr. Lindheim!!!
