My mother was assigned Dr. Amgott after a recent visit and overnight stay at the hospital for trouble breathing. He has been nothing but rude and condescending to her treating her like a child because she is elderly. He may have a ton of credentials and be well educated, but that doesn't mean he is caring or warm to his patients.

If you are overweight, he does nothing. Could not take a deep breath for years because of a reaction to an inhaler. Finally went away after coumadin treatment for embolisms. His only diagnosis was overweight.

Extremely well-degreed and licensed doctor from prestigious universities, i.e., Johns Hopkins U., for one. This doctor asks detailed questions so as to assess the patient situation accurately. He may be the best pulmonologist in Brevard County, in my opinion. His experience as head of the respiratory unit at Melbourne Regional Hospital in Florida for 20 years and his other experience (a total of 35 years, I think, but not completely certain) as an internist, a specialist in many areas, i.e., pulmonary diseases, sleep disorders, etc., have served him well. His manner is business-like, detailed, tactful, professional, and helpful.

I am a new patient with two serious lung diseases, so I carefully researched the credentials of all the pulmonary doctors in my area and discovered Dr. Amgott's credentials were the best. I then was able to get referred by my primary doctor, thank goodness! How can you beat board certified in four medical specialities, cuma sum lade at Princeton University, studies and work at Duke University, and training at Johns Hopkins University? [number 16 for research in the entire world according to U.S. News and World Report!] Those are five-star universities and medical complexes people! Couple the above prestigious training and experience with his20-year work history as head of the respiratory unit at Melbourne Regional Hospital. It all spells EXPERT!Dr. Amgott is everything you need a doctor to be: professional, well-mannered, tactful, compassionate, accurate in his assessment, spends as much time with you as you need,
