Thomas Velleff's Online Review Report Card

This is the only doctor in my life who has taken the time to read my entire medical history. He listens to what I have to say and he really cares about my well being. I would recommend him to anyone.

I have been going to Dr Velleuff for over 5 years now. I have alot of different health conditions and one of them had me so sick I had been to 10 different doctors trying to get diagnosed! He was one of two doctors that figured out I had a second autoimmune disease that was causing me to be so sick every month for over 4 years, and I ended up in the hospital for 7 weeks having total abdominal surgery, that in the end helped me alot! He is not my diagnostic physician but I make sure to run everything by him ( all my tests and copies of records)because I Trust him that much! He has been a Godsend to me! Not only knowledgeable but also very caring!

I have been very worried about my doctor and wondering when he is coming back,l. I’ve been coming to him for almost 2 years now and I have to say I will be very upset if he is no longer practicing. He is so much more than a pain care specialist, I truly rely on him like most people would a primary care doc. He has treated me with more compassion and understanding than my actual PCP, he has taken extra time with me to make sure I get the care I need from specialists. He is extremely knowledgeable and goes above and beyond just pain management. He understands that many other health issues coincide and intertwine to create other health problems, in which he offers his experience and time to make sure you find the right solutions and medication. Most patients that have legit chronic and debilitating pain, are often afraid to speak up, or say the wrong thing to a doctor in fear that they will be judged or assumed to be an addict because they rely on pain meds to improve their quality of life. Unfortunately it’s the true recreational addicts of this world that make it hard for real chronic pain patients to find a good doctor. Dr Velleff never made me feel like I couldn’t talk to him about my issues or meds. He truly cares for the overall well being of his patients and has made a positive impact in my life because he cares. It’s hard to find a physician like him these days. If I could have him as my primary care I would. It breaks my heart not knowing if he is coming back or not, not sure why he left I just hope he is ok and that I receive the same level of excellent care from the new Dr here.

He has a great bedside manner and truly seems to care about you receiving medical attention.

Hello everyone just letting y'all know Doctor Velleff is sick get well soon if y'all keep him in your prayers much appreciated

I have been going to Dr. V for several years. A couple years ago after being told by the VA for 3 months that I had a swollen lymph node in my neck from a ear infection I asked him what he thought. After examining my neck, looking into my ear and throat he came to the conclusion it was not what the VA thought it was. He sent me for bloodwork and a Xray. He called me 2 days later and said Im sending you to get a MRI. A few days later he called me again and said I think it may be cancer. He was correct, I had stage 4 throat cancer. Needless to say, he saved my life. He is always very concerned for his patients health. If you have a question or concern, if he does not have a immediate response, he will research it and get you an answer. By far the best Doctor Ive ever had. The office is always clean and the office girls are always very professional, kind and courteous.

People lose a prescription they lose it and he will not refill it he says he’s done with you and does not care. He took away medication from a friend of mine and said her urine test had serious drugs, he says she’s doing cocaine. She’s close to dying and he took away her prescription for no reason and took away her medication and ended up in COC. Another DEA rep. He signs a paper where the DEA can see everything you do and if you don’t let the doctors do this they will get shut down. They had staff they had to get rid of because she was going against terms. You can hear him making moves on married women.They left without being able to get any prescriptions.

I have been extremely sick for quite some time & I didn’t know what was causing this. Dr. V figured out that I have a growth on my brain within my first 2 apts with him, something that my neurologist, neurosurgeon, 12 other surgeons & countless Drs had missed. I am very relieved. Knowing is truly 1/2 the battle. While I don’t believe Dr V is advertised as a diagnostic doctor, he truly is the best one I have seen. Unrelated to this, I have an extremely rare condition that he is gonna be treating with 3 machines he has in his office. I have some hope finally with possibly getting better, something that none of the other top Drs & surgeons ever gave me unfortunately.

Dr Velleff is truly gifted as a physician! He often researches medical care in countries around the world to find the best treatment for a patient. He uses a lot of wholistic medicine and identifies sources of medical conditions rather than just treating symptoms. Dr Velleff has literally saved my life and countless others!!

Nurse Sues Doctor, Accusing Him Of Squeezing Her Neck May 24, 1996|By Purvette A. Bryant of The Sentinel Staff DELAND — A Volusia Medical Center nurse has sued a doctor at the hospital, accusing him of squeezing her neck and shaking her while they were on duty because she defied an order. Dr. Thomas Velleff accosted Carma Householder after he asked her to order a special bed earlier this year, a Volusia County sheriff's report stated. When she told him she needed to clear the request with hospital administrators, Velleff grabbed her by the neck, began shaking her and stated, ''Just get the bed'' and walked away, the sheriff's report said. Householder, 35, of Orange City is seeking more than $15,000 in damages through a lawsuit filed Thursday in Volusia Circuit Court. The registered nurse, and her attorney, Phillip Sigman of Altamonte Springs, declined comment Thursday. Velleff's attorney, Donald Weidner of Jacksonville, said Thursday he hadn't seen the lawsuit. The allegations against Velleff are false, Weidner said. ''It's clear she's only interested in trying to obtain a payment from Dr. Velleff,'' Weidner said. ''She threatened to file a lawsuit if he didn't settle. We will pursue counterdamages against her and her attorney.'' Roy Reid, a spokesman for Volusia Medical Center, said Thursday that hospital officials can't comment on the matter. When the incident occurred Jan. 20, Householder didn't suffer injuries and didn't want to prosecute at that time, a sheriff's report stated. She told officers that Velleff didn't attempt to choke her, ''but she felt he was attempting to intimidate her so that she would bypass the administration and order the bed,'' the report stated. Velleff, who practices in Orange City, acted with malice and his actions were ''both shocking and outrageous,'' according to claims in the lawsuit filed Thursday. He intended to cause emotional distress and grabbed her neck as an ''expression of his anger,'' the suit stated. As a result, Householder suffered physical pain, mental pain and suffering, emotional distress, humiliation and shame, the suit stated.
