William Catena's Online Review Report Card

On December 30, 2022, I was diagnosed with a severe knee infection. My orthopedic surgeon, Dr Kennth Sands, along with Dr Catena, drew fluids off the knee and cultured the bacteria. It looked like green slime! On February 1, 2023, Sands did a reverse replacement, taking out the metal hardware and inserting antibiotic beads and a slow-release antibiotic spacer. Dr Catena drove the antibiotic choices and delivery. He visited me 4 times in the hospital, keeping me updated. 4 times! I spent 11 weeks at home with antibiotic IVs twice a day. Dr Catena coordinated the weekly delivery from a Jacksonville pharmacy which contained antibiotics and accessories for home IVs. Never a hitch in delivery. They took blood every week and Dr Catena adjusted my antibiotics as needed. My white blood cell count is normal today and I am waiting to have a knee replacement to get back to normal. Thank you, Dr Catena, you saved my leg!

I had a horrible experience with this “Dr.”! He denied my symptoms, told me there was nothing wrong with me, and sent me to another specialist for nothing! He has delayed my treatment for months because of his lack of care and concern. I would definitely never recommend him! Worse bedside manor , lack of knowledge and overall could really not care to listen to the patient!!!

Dr Catena is very pleasant my mother feels comfortable in his care. The staff is wonderful thank you ladies 😁

I've been his patient for several years. He's efficient, thorough and very reliable. He's also punctual, which is increasingly rare these days.

Worst office i evwr went to i had osteomylitis and getting my iv meds delivered was a joke went to his office twice never to return staff couldnt care less either never returned messages give this office minus 10

Disappointed with this medical office, will be requesting a different provider. I came for an appointment for Dr. Catena and was informed by Jennifer, the receptionist, that it was cancelled. She said they called me yesterday at 4pm. I checked my phone and nothing, she rattled off a bogus number then laughed saying, “I guess that’s why you didn’t get the cancellation.” She said the office has been trying to get a hold of Patrick AFB for my medical records and got nothing. So I called the number they have been using, yes, a wrong number. One thing I learned in life, if the doctor surrounded himself with an incompetent staff that sums up the overall organization. I was cordial and polite and in return all I got was the “I don’t care” attitude. For us individuals / customers, our time is important to us. Anyways, sometimes we cannot choose our provider when dealing with medical insurance, if you have an option, you may want to read the other reviews and make an informed decision if this medical facility and doctor is for you.

He was called in as a "consult" when I was in the hospital, next thing you know, he has taken over and discontinued the treatment my hospital doctor had advised I needed and basically was ready to discharge me even though my blood tests showed unstable levels. I guess the doctor who was supposed to be my treating physician was afraid to rule against him and when I tried to argue, I was the bad guy.

After my husband being a SELF PAY patient ($80/Visits plus hundreds in labs) of Dr. Catena since 2012, I have to say I am EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED with how my husband has been treated and MISLEAD. First of all, at our last visit in Dec. 2016, Dr. Catena straight out told my husband since he had no insurance and no fibrosis of the liver, that he wasn't eligible for treatment, that he had nothing to worry about, to do his labs and call him in a year! So pretty much saying let's wait until your liver starts failing and then start treatment. You would think with all the new CURES for hep c, the doctor would try to help him. Dr. Catena brushed him off as he was nothing. Not to mention instead of the $80 self pay visit, they decided to charge us $218 because Dr. Catena moved to a new office and we had to pay for an "established patient" visit, now keep in mind, my husband has been his patient since 2012. Really? Dr. Catena does NOT care about what's best for his patients or try to help in any way unless you have insurance. So sad. On a brighter note, with further research, a few weeks later, my husband found an awesome, caring Dr who has done all his blood work and everything that goes along with treatment and will be starting Harvoni very soon! Could be looking at being cured within 8 weeks!! How AMAZING is that? SHAME ON YOU DR. CATENA, don't even know why you're a Dr.

I went to see dr. Catina with several parasitic disturbances. Before he even examined me or sent me for tests, he said I was dillusional and needed to see a psychiatrist. My world came down. He was my hope for a diagnosis and treatment!!!

This person flat out told me i had to see a psychiatrist, before he even examined me or send me to the lab. I have been suffering with parasites for years now without treatment. I hope you can sleep at night Mr. Catena, knowing so many people are suffering without help!!! If there was a 0 star rating, I would do that!
