I was looking for some information about this provider before my first appt and found two very different opinions. One very scary and critical and this other on * I am only giving 4 star's for now because I don't actually go to see them until February 2 , but if the rest of the staff is as wonderful,caring, informative,and helpful as Trevor was then I'm sure I will be giving them 5 stars. After my appointment I will definitely give them the 5 star's they deserve. I was going in to see them to get established as a new patient and got way more than I had expected. They are very thorough and helpful in all areas.. Thanks Dr Zapata And staff for everything My opinion is very simple. Dr. Christoffer Zapata is the kind of Dr sick people needs.

He can be too direct for old people and sometimes hurt their feelings, but for me he’s a pretty awesome doctor and pretty knowledgeable, kind, and respectful. I highly recommend having him as a doctor

If there is one star here it is because Healthgrades won't let me give Dr. Zapata a zero. I understand now why we couldn't find any other reviews of this doctor. In a single new patient meeting he managed to call our previous doctor a quack, refused to refill a prescription of maintenance medication used successfully for two years, implied the patient was an addict and told him he didn't believe in his previous mental health diagnoses and they were "just in his mind". When I questioned his care in my follow up documentation he told me if we were in crisis we could "go to a hospital". He wrote an order for labs and didn't do a physical exam even though it was an in person appointment. Even stranger he tried to explain how to do what I only assume was his version of at home emdr. I'm from a medical family everything he said made me concerned for his patient's care, whoever is insuring him and the practice that hired him. We are leaving this health practice and I recommend avoiding him.
