List of Kent Leifer's Reviews
I have seen a multitude of good doctors and other medical specialists since moving to Merritt Island/ Brevard County 57 years ago to help put men on the moon, and I can say in all sincerity that Dr. Kent Leifer is THE BEST of them all!!! Dr. Kent, as you get closer to a well-deserved retirement, thank you so much for your “service,” Godspeed, and May The Wind Be Always At Your Back!
The office is in n desperate need of cleaning, painted , etc. I couldn't wait to get out of it. His office visible signs of no maintenance what so ever. Reeks of cigarettes. Honestly I was feeling germ phobic . He does not check for allergies because of Covid. Cost me $35 for nothing. He reminded me of the hippy dippy weather man George Carlin. He was a nice man but I can't go back it's just way to nasty.
I honestly felt this is one of the worst doctors ever! Would rate zero stars if I could. He's old #1 and should retire. He showed no sympathy or empathy to me. I only saw him on referral from primary. Hoping he could help boost my immunity as I had EBV and auto-immune issues. Said flat out I can't help you. He doubted my tiredness. Said everyone is tired and how do I know I have inflammation. Mind you I showed him copies of my recent labs. Quickly dismissed it all. I gathered my labs and folder and apologized for wasting his time. His response "I'll get paid regardless". Front office staff tried to collect $129 for office visit yet my required copay is only $40. (Dr then attempt to give me back two $20 bills from his wallet for my visit.) No patient should ever be belittled nor made to feel there is nothing wrong with them. Shame on this doctor! (He wore a mask which needed to be replaced as it was dingy and he was very unkempt in his appearance)
I would personally rate Dr. Leifer ZERO stars, but it wasn't an option. Firstly the location - seemed sketchy. Office is located in the very back of what appeared a run-down area. Inside office area - appeared old but I guess tidy enough. Office staff: I have a $40 copay. They tried to tell me they need to collect $129 for the office visit. Claimed their billing dept contacted my insurance and since we haven't met the yearly deductible yet I owe more. No - that's not the way it works! my required co-pay for a specialist is $40 only! After filling out the two required forms which were not very long nor required in-depth medical history, the Dr calls me back into his office. First impression, this doctor is really old - he was in a walker in which he said his hip is giving him trouble. Fair enough. We sit down in his office and he glances at the paperwork. I am observing him as he looks over the paperwork. He's wearing TWO masks - one on his neck and the other on the face. The one on his face appeared dingy and honestly needed to be replaced. Yuck. I won't go into details about his nails, or his unkempt appearance. My primary doctor referred me to him in hopes of getting on some "therapy" program to boost my immunity. He thought I would benefit from seeing an immunologist. I was not looking for a miracle cure but hoped to find someone more caring. (I had a bout of EBV and I also have underlying auto-immune issues.) Right away he questioned how do I know I had EBV? Showed him my labs. And he dismissed it and my doctor for sending me to him because the labs ran were not the correct ones. I had to explain that both types of labs were ran to keep looking. He questioned (with doubt) about the severity of my "exhaustion" and my "aches and pains" and my "inflammation". He made me feel as if I was wasting his time. I said look at the labs - labs show inflammation, inflammation = aches and pains. He said there was NOTHING he could do for me. And went as far as saying everyone has tiredness/exhaustion - perhaps I need medication to help me sleep. And if I ever find a "cure" for my tiredness to let him know because he really wants to know. I gathered my labs together and I apologized for wasting his time to which he replied "no apology needed - I'll get paid regardless". The time spent in his office was only 10 minutes if that. On the way out - the lady asks for my $40 copay and I gave her my credit card. The doctor then has the nerve to ask her how much my copay was and is reaching into his back pocket and pulls out his wallet and takes out two $20 bills and says here young lady take this for your trouble. What?!?! If that wasn't the most arrogant gesture. Who does that?? To be made to feel like your symptoms are nothing and you're fine.... I'm sorry is the lowest any "professional" medical personnel can say to a patient. We are important and should be treated as such. Dr. Leifer showed absolutely not one ounce of any sympathy or empathy or interest in trying to help my immune system. Fine if there is nothing that he could do for me - but don't belittle the patient and make them feel worse. I left with my head held high and then I cried in the car. No patient SHOULD EVER be made to feel that way! Shame on him.
Dr. Leifer is a fantastic doctor! He has a lot of experience and knowledge. Respectable listener and gives trustworthy advice and treatment. Great with kids! Office staff is very nice. Feels like your around family instead of in a doctors office. Warm, friendly environment.
I was able to walk right in and get seen on time. He listened carefully to what I had to say without cutting me off, then gave me a several point plan in writing to follow. He clearly has years of experience and knows what he's talking about. For me to say all this take a LOT b/c everywhere I go I am disappointed.
Approachable, empathetic, common sense, hands on Dr,. I DO HAVE TO SAY THAT DR LEIFER, is most likely, the only Dr. that I have ever been to, most definitely cares for me as a "human being ", not a number or dollar sign. My hat goes off to you and the beautiful lady that set up my appointment and greeted me upon my arrival, she certainly is a gem, you certainly could be role models for many people as to the right way to treat one another. Thank you very much
Dr. Leifer was awesome. He was committed to spending at least 45 minutes with me on the first visit. He is thorough and practical in treatment. I think he is an excellent physician.
Dr Leifer is truly the best.
I have been a patient of Dr. Leifer since 1979. He has guided me medically thru some difficult times with asthma. He is intelligent, knowledgeable, caring and the best doctor that I have ever had. Love this doctor! The office hours have shortened over the years, can't blame him for wanting time off, so keep that in mind. Office staff are courteous and caring.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
