Had a urine culture done 4 eeeks ago. That same day I told the nurse and dr Lastarria that I had abreast cancer reconstruction surgery on March 11 and that I needed results before then and a clearance letter sent to my plastic surgeon in order to continue with surgery. I was told by the dr to call in a week and I did. I called and reminded him about the clearance note to my dr andabput the results of my test and was told the dr will take care of the clearance and the results were fine. Today March 11 day of the surgery I go 5 am got prepared for surgery when my plastic surgery enters the room and informed me that dr Lastarria sent a note Friday st 8:50 pm to cancel the surgery because my urine culture was positive!!! And that he saw it this morning only a few minutes before surgery !!! Dr Lastarria had 4 weeks to notify me sbout it so I could go and repeat the test and all of this could had been avoided and today I would had have my surgery. It was very irresponsible and unprofessional on his part and his staff what they did to me today. There are no excuses.
