Ronny Aquinin's Online Review Report Card

I am shocked and deeply disappointed by the disrespectful attitude displayed by this doctor. After I told him I would record this call, he hung up on my face. I called the office to inquire about a charge of $100 (after insurance) for a call that lasted less than a minute. The call in question was brief where the dr. said my lab results were "fine." I proceeded to ask him what he tested for exactly, as I wanted to relay this information to other doctors I had planned to see, and all he said was "everything, and everything is fine" without providing further details. Consequently, I was charged $100 for an unsatisfactory response. The doctor then called me after an email I sent questioning this insane charge, and he then proceeded to reprimand me like a child, starting off by saying "Let me tell you what I tell all the 3 patients I have a year that complain about this.” The doctor went on to threaten me by stating he would “chase me for every dollar I owed and send me to collections.” I find it appalling that a dr. would resort to such unprofessional behavior, especially when failing to address my inquiries or take the time to explain the tests performed. I asked him to drop the attitude, as I do not respond to arrogant and rude individuals, regardless of their professional standing. It is the responsibility of any professional to explain matters to their clients/patients when questions arise, rather than dismissively stating, "we tested everything." If the doctor intended to charge me for a call lasting "up to 40 minutes," it would have been appropriate to answer my questions and utilize the allotted time to thoroughly discuss the tests conducted. I have yet to receive my test results, which only adds to my dissatisfaction. To be clear, I have consistently and promptly paid all of my medical bills throughout the year, including visits to urgent care, a gastroenterologist, and a gynecologist for annual check-ups and to address ongoing stomach pain. I never questioned the validity of any of those bills, no matter how high they were, as they were all justified, but the few times that I did call just to clarify what the line items in the bills meant, I was given a direct response and a caring explanation. NONE of these doctors have ever charged me for a call that lasted less than 30 seconds to tell me that my test results came out good. I would understand if they charged me that much "for their expertisie" if the "expertise" in question were actually offered, especially upon request. My intention in contacting the doctor was not to avoid payment; rather, it was to question the exorbitant charge for a conversation that offered no substance beyond a simple assertion of "everything is fine." As a patient, I firmly believe that it is my right to question such an outrageous charges because I have a right to defend myself in a situation I deem unjustified -- as does ANY patient out there. Dr's have NO right tot take advantage of us under no circumstances. Never before have I encountered a doctor who not only spoke to me in such a unprofessional manner but also threatened me and attempted to “extract every penny I had” despite his failure to adequately address my concerns during the phone call. Seriously, The deficiency in communication lies solely with the doctor, not with me. Consequently, I do not believe I owe anything for that particular phone call, as it was entirely unproductive. However, I am more than willing to provide payment and not just because he threatened me, but because he clearly needs it more than I do. I don’t need to put myself through a battle like this with a money hungry arrogant man. In my own profession, if my clients express dissatisfaction or question my work or billing, I'd never dismiss their concerns in this manner. Furthermore, I would never charge my clients $100 for even a 5-minute phone call without their prior knowledge, particularly if the conversation merely consisted of a brief exchange of pleasantries and no professional expertise was given.

Don't take this doctor's calls unless you want to be charged hundreds of dollars for a 30 second call that said "lab results came out good". When I proceeded to ask him what he tested for, he just said "everything, and everything is fine". Then went on to charge me for an "up to 40 minute call"... claiming he charged for his expertise when he failed to give me any valuable information. I called in to ask about the charge and when he called me back he literally told me "I am going to chase you for every penny and if you don't pay I'm taking you to collections". When I asked him to talk to me with respect because I don't respond well to disrespect no matter what someone's profession is, he continued to talk down to me. I then said I was going to start recording the call to have proof of his behavior and he hung up in my face. I will pay him for his 30 second call in which I gained no valuable information that I could take to any of my doctors. I will pay him even though I never received these results. I will pay him even though when I went to the gastroenterologist a few weeks later they literally asked me for my lab results and when I told them "my doctor said he tested everything and it was all fine". They nearly laughed in my face because they couldn't do anything with that information, and that appointment was basically a flop. They were actually annoyed of me for even going without any information to give them. They told me I would have to redo bloodwork or come back once they get a hold of my lab results. I write this review to warn people who may be hard of cash, or older people who may not have the energy or strength to dispute unfair charges. I write this to protect you. I've never in my life been charged for 30 second calls even to relay bad or good test results , so this was very new to me. And because of that naturally I questioned it.. I would've more than gladly paid the doctor with a smile on my face had the doctor told me what he tested for when I asked so I can have a better understanding, and relay this to the doctors I was going to see later on. None of which charged me for follow up calls. I am saddened that there are doctors out there who want to squeeze you for every nickel instead of taking the time to care for a patient and respond to their questions with professionalism, expertise and care. I am saddened that I was literally threatened by him over our last call in such a disgusting manner. In my own profession if a client criticizes my work or questions billing, never have I ever ONCE insulted them or speak down on them for questioning me. Instead, I professionally go line by line with utmost respect so that they can understand the charges. And if they ever were unsatisfied with my work, I take that as constructive feedback and come up with a plan so that they feel attended to and cared about. When will we finally come to a place where we actually start caring about what we do and who we do it for. Truly sad. Especially in the medical world, patients are at your mercy and rely on you to give them the proper details for the sake of their health. When they ask questions, here's some constructive feedback, why not take the time to answer, especially when you're going to charge for a full 40 minutes. I should've taken his other poor reviews more seriously. His threats actually do scare me to be honest... I am it never feels good when someone threatens you. * what's funny is that on Google he replied to my review calling ME undignified. That's hilarious coming from this narcissist. Literally appalled. If he had a PR exec, they'd tell him to take the high road and not write something so petty. I feel bad for this man. Save yourselves from this egotistical human.

Dr. Aquinin is the best. Down to earth. Great insight into medical issues. Great bedside manner. Highly recommended

Not a fan of going to the doctors, but Dr Aquinin shoots straight from the hip with a smile. Two very enthusiastic thumbs up!

Worst person I ever dealt with in my life. Extremely rude, arrogant and absolutely not qualified. Staff is horrible and not professional at all. Charges you $25 for a visit and forces you to come to his office and charges you another $25 Just for him to give you, your lab results. Not sure if this is allowed by the insurance companies I will be discussing that with them. Also, yelled at me and told me if I didn’t like it I can go somewhere else. Which I did, thank GOD! I would highly not recommend this guy. Honestly giving him one star is too much.

Horrible experience, this “doctor” is very rude and arrogant. I had an appointment and waited over an hour in the exam room to be seen. Came out to ask if there was an issue, to found out that they forgot about me. Originally came for my annual exam, to be told that this guy does not perform annuals, but will run my blood work today charge my co-pay for the visit $25, forced me to come to his office and charged me again a co-pay $25 just for him to read my blood work result. I will be informing the insurance of these kind of practices. Refuses to give you your own lab results and refuses to give my husband a letter he requested from him. Thank god we found an amazing Doctor. Do not use this guy I would not recommend him.
