as i narrated to dr zarate my incest background, she interrupted me to ask why my sister brought that up if it happened so long ago. also wore cropped and short clothes and she wouldn't stop asking if it was really that hot outside. i have been 20 years in therapy and i was just astonished. this doctor was beyond underwhelming, unhelpful, judgemental, and disrespectful.

She was attentive, listened to me and diagnosed my problem which I had been wrongly diagnosed for over a year. Today, thanks to her, I am 100% better! I thank God for her everyday!!

Truly understanding doctor. She takes her time with you to really get to know your situation. Thank you Dr. Zarate.

I went to see Zarate as I began having suicidal thoughts/suffering from major depression, anxiety, and ADHD. I shared general details about what was going on in my life (as she asked) and after she told me there is nothing she can do to help me and that I need to just relax. She told me go to Whole Foods and purchase "Gaba" pills to help with relaxation and my focus. Bc of limited space I can't share more details but PLEASE! Do NOT see Zarate, especially for depression with suicidal thoughts!

She's a nice person and does care about her patients. However if you are looking for an initial diagnosis, I would probably try someone else first. This doctor is great with established patients who understand their condition and therapy pretty well. Office is nice and clean.

She is a horrible Doctor. First of all, she never asks for a list of symptoms, history of mental health issues and time frame of those symptoms and/or issues. So how can she provide a diagnosis or suggest meds if she doesn't even know her patient's history? She just asks how you're feeling that day? She seems out of it every time I speak with her. Instead of her suggesting a medication to best suit my diagnosis (that she never gives), she opens her drawer and ask me what I'd like to take as if I'm the one who spent eight years in school for psychiatry. She pushes only the brand spanking new drugs. She is unable to answer questions about said drugs or their side effects. She will insult you and your personality if she doesn't like it. I was on the receiving end of that a few times. She socialized and gossiped during her appts with me instead of trying to help me with my mental health issues. I left her office always feeling worse. If you're also looking for a staff that returns calls, forget it. They never do. I found another doctor. I wouldn't recommend her to my worst enemy.
