Mayra Capote's Online Review Report Card

Disappointed had appointment schedule for one of my children apparently there was a claim issue with another child and they refuse to see my sick child unless I pay for the service mind you this is a claim from 2021. So sad that doctors don’t truly care about their patient they are more worried about. $250 claims that I am sure is less than that with contracted rate.

Dr Capote and his staff are very kind and knowledgeable! I've gone numerous times with both of my children when they have been sick and he knows just what to prescribe right away. He even recommended me to a great therapist for my children. I did visit the therapist and am just as happy with their professionalism. Thank you to Dr Capote and staff.

En solo unos meses q mi niña lleva atendiéndose en con la pediatra Mayra Capote ha sido en dolor de cabeza, para referidos ni hablar, la pediatra sólo te manda productos Over the counter por cualquier problema, nunca puedes ir el mismo día aunque su hijo necesita un referido. El personal es súper grosero. Lamentablemente como en todas las prácticas hay q tratar incluso más con el personal q con el pediatra y el equipo ese es horrible. My first visit with my newborn felt rushed she answered my questions but as a first time mom I had plenty and it seemed like she had other pressing issues to attend to. My second visit she wasn’t in the office due to the COVID situation so I saw the PA, the PA kept speaking Spanish even tho I asked for english and answered in English. My visit after was scheduled with Capote instead I saw the PA and again and the same English situation. I called the office because I forgot to ask about a issue I have and never got called back with a response. My last visit I made a point to schedule and see Capote she is the only reason why I’m there, I saw Capote but was not satisfied with my visit and again I felt rushed. On paper she’s an amazing Dr. according to my husband’s family who recommended her she is one of a kind sadly that was not my experience. I will be going back to my childhood pediatrician who always took great care of me and made me feel welcomed and at ease.

I have 7 children, with the oldest being 24. Dr Capote has been all of their Dr.s. She is a excellent Pediatrician. She is knowledgeable and Very patient. Despite people saying negative comments about Teri the receptionist, she is very nice to me and my children. She doesn’t have a attitude and is always willing to help. El personal del front desk es súper desagradable y muuuy poco profesional, tal parece q eso ahí es una como un lugar de beneficencia, como si esas señoras fueran las que te pagaran la consulta no saludan y muy déspotas, se molestan por absolutamente tooodo, no se dan cuenta que están en una consulta para niños!! Les recomiendo si les cae mal trabajar con público señoras quédense en sus casas es horrible como tratan a los padres solo por que les preg algo!!

I switched both my kids to this doctor (the youngest being a newborn) after throughly researching for pediatricians who don’t mind vaccine exemptions. She saw my kids fine for about 2-3 visits. Then at my youngest 8 week visit she wanted to vaccinate him failing to look at his file. Once I reminded her that I don’t vaccinate my children, her attitude completely changed. She got rude and started to lecture me about her opinions on vaccines making me feel as if something will happen to my kids. She then suggested to start looking for another doctor as she soon will have to turn away patients who aren’t vaccinated. She never gave me another appt. Today I passed by her office to get a WIC paper signed as my WIC appt was today for my older child. Her office then advised me I’d have to wait for him to have a physical (not what they told me on the phone). People at the front desk are super rude and every time I’ve gone there I’ve waited 3-4 hours WITH APPT. This doctor also recommended for my 6 week old to drink water and cereal which is NOT recommended by most doctors. BEWARE OF THIS UNPROFESSIONAL DOCTOR AND STAFF!!

Dr. Capote is great but the staff is disgusting. Tere, the blonde old lady is the worse person I have ever dealt with. She always has an attitude and when you arrive without an appointment she makes you wait until everyone goes in, even people that arrive after you. If my child is sick that day, I obviously don't have an appointment because it happens out of the blue. Even when I call to ask if I can come in on that day (obviously because my child just got sick) she says you cant come in.

The staff at this office is the worse I have ever encountered. I took my new born daughter for her first visit. After two hours of waiting with a new born in the smallest possible room you can find, the blonde receptionist, had to wait longer cause they were still calling the insurance. Even after making copies of my insurance paperwork, I had to give it back to them cause they couldn't find the number.... really. Never even got to see the doctor. This is worse staff I have ever.......

When I first came to be a patient I was expecting to have a doctor like every other !! I came to find out she is one of a kind .. She is concerned about the the well being of the child over anything else . She is up front and won't lie to you to so you can be happy . She explains what's going on with your child and how to improve their health . The staff is beyond helpful, and the office is perfectly ran from the staff greeting you to the Dr, PA the referral dept , management and the nurse .
