Benjamin Francois Chavre's Online Review Report Card

I am very satisfied with the medical care provided to my elderly mother by Dr. Benjamin-Chavre. He handles her medical condition in a professional manner. He is very patient, he does not rush. He asks questions while performing a head to toes assessment. He does cut corners. He refers my mom to the appropriate provider when the problem is out of his scope of practice. I recommend Dr. Benjamin-Chavre.

Dr Chavre is a great Physician who really cares about his patients. He takes time to listen to your complaints and addresses all your concerns. He is knowledgeable, competent, caring and compassionate. I Highly recommend anyone to him.

Yesterday I took my mother in for an emergency visit with Dr. Chavre because she had been feeling very dizzy for the past two days. I had never met Dr. Chavre before and did not know that he was her new doctor. Once he came in the room my mother said this is my daughter. As my mother begin to describe her symptoms she stated that the medication she was taking for her blood pressure doesn't work because her blood pressure never goes down. So I asked Dr. Chavre what medication was my mother taking. He ignored me. So I waited until he was done speaking with my mother and I asked him again what medication is my mother taking. He ignores me again. Up until this point Dr. Chavre only spoke Haitian-Creole and I was only speaking English. I asked him does he not speak English he told me no (which I later found out he did). So I asked him in Haitian-Creole, which I'm sure he was not expecting me to be able to do. He turns to my mother and says tell her what medication you are taking. So my mother says the same medication and she says you can tell her. He finally tells me the medication and then begins to yell and berate me for not knowing my mother's medications and for asking him questions where the health of my mother is concerned. I tried to explain to him that I do not live with my mother and for the most part my mother is very independent. I have never in my life met a doctor who did not want to include the family of their patient in the process of helping that patient get healthier. Dr. Chavre behavior towards me yesterday was down right rude, disrespectful and uncalled for. And if it was up to me my mother wouldn't be returning there.

Considering how I was treated at his office yesterday I would not recommend anyone go here. Especially if you are the care giver for someone and you have questions.
