I'm amending my original review of 1 star. I still feel strongly that having only 1 doctor and an average 8-hour wait at an eye ER is ridiculous. We were very lucky that our situation allowed us to go home and come back at 7 am (when they recommended we come back). At that point, we were seen relatively quickly, and had fantastic service with the doctors. They were efficient and kind, and scheduled us for an emergency surgery within 24 hours.

Worst medical experience. Got to the emergency room at 6am with a scratched cornea, waited an hour and 45 minutes and asked multiple times when a Dr would be coming with no help, while other people in the clinic are going in and out being seen. Makes no sense to me. I called the admin to see if it normal to wait almost two hours to be seen in the emergency room a the response we was yes it’s normal and it’s not a long wait. Why have an emergency room with no staff to see patients? TERRIBLE BUSINESS.

En repetidas ocasiones por urgencias he llevado a familiares y la atención malísima muchas horas de espera no tienen personal suficiente para cubrir las necesidades de los pacientes lo peor es que es el único lugar en Miami que funciona para los ojos 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻

I knew it would take a full day, because that's how this place has been for years. Can't say I understand it, as we were there for 7 hrs and took less than 20 minutes with the Dr. I felt the Dr was thorough with us, but still no reason as to why it takes 7 hrs to see the dr. Parking fee was ridiculous too ..

This place is horrible at scheduling but It's worth the wait.

My experience has been nothing short of amazing. My ER visit wait time was not bad considering the amount of pain I was in. The attending doctor was gentle caring and very knowledgeable of my condition. Closed Angle Glaucoma is a serious condition. My eye pressure was at 50 and I was on day number 3 no sleep. This doctor in the ER worked effortlessly to perform laser surgery and provide relief. The laser procedure was unsuccessful and I went home still in unbearable pain and was given an appointment to come back at 9:50 AM. I was given drops to help me manage the pain until I returned. Everyone I encountered was professional and caring. The facility was clean with lots of available seating. Arrived at my appointment. Reasonable wait time. I met Dr. Beca who literally saved my life. He is very charismatic and very knowledgeable about my condition. Dr. Beca examined my eye and stated my options. He understood my level of pain and reassured me that he could perform the laser surgery with a high chance of success. That exactly what happened next! The laser procedure was indeed a success. I felt instant relief. After three days of pain that literally brought me to a dark place of wanting to be put out my misery. Thanks to Dr. Beca, I get to live again. The best sleep I’ve had was waiting to get my eye pressure checked after the procedure. Thank you Dr. Beca and the Bascom Palmer ER team from registration to discharge. A Team sent from God. 💕😊💙🦋 No place is perfect, but Bascom Palmer was perfect for me.

I took my mother to the Eye ER at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute and the doctors were excellent! We are so grateful they were able to do the laser procedure on the same day. Yes, there was a very long wait time so people should be prepared to wait for several hours in the waiting room. Overall, the medical care was amazing and I highly recommend this facility.

Muy mal servicio. Mi esposo llegó aquí con un dolor el un ojo y lo tiraron ahí a esperar por 5 horas no entiendo si uno va a emergencia se supone que no debe esperar pa tiene una emergencia

I wanted to thank Andrea Diaz coordinator for her outstanding service. I also want to thank Belkis Dominguez RN for her gentleness with me and securing I would be okay. Also a hugh aplouse to Dr.Jannuzzi for his amazing service and explanation of the porceedure. I am very glad to be treated here amazing staff since you enter the building :)
