As a healthcare professional, I understand the challenges involved in finding quality care. Based on the experiences of my patients, excellent primary care may be the most challenging to find. Here, I've found an excellent physician in Dr. Velez. I came in as a healthy, young male for a pre-employment physical. Working in healthcare, I get physicals at least annually, among other tests and screens. She could have easily performed a cursory physical exam, asked me whether I could physically work, and signed my form. Instead, Dr. Velez provided a complete physical exam, obtained a full medical and surgical history, and screened me for a few health conditions based on my intake forms and family history. Needless to say, I was impressed with her approach this visit. Not only does she provide comprehensive care, she also knows how to build rapport. She entered the room with a friendly smile, used little medical jargon, which improves communication for many, and was very approachable. If I were to stay in Orlando, she would be my primary care physician! Velez Family Health is located in Dr. Phillips in an office building. It's not visible from the parking lot, but if you walk down the hall of the north building, you'll find this clinic on the first floor past the restrooms. The place is clean, and the front desk staff is affable. Want a doc who truly cares about your health? Come here!

I just had the opportunity to speak with Olivia in new patient scheduling. She was kind but gave me news that any new patients looking to be seen by Doctor Velez will have to wait a minimum of 6 months till September for your first appointment which is pretty discouraging but I guess speaks to how busy Doctor Velez is in her medical practice. I will update my review once I have had the opportunity to be seen by a doctor.

I had the pleasure to be seen by Dr. Velez today and let me tell you that it was a breath of fresh air. In my line of work I meet doctors all the time. Some nice to talk too and some not so approachable. Dr. Velez is the definition of a doctor, she was caring and extremely knowledgable. She answered all my questions and gave me the reassurance I needed. Everybody in the office is extremely friendly and patient centered and this, now a days is hard to find. My consultation latest a little over an hour and I never ever felt rushed, It was a wonderful experience. I finally found a doctor that genially care for her patients.

I'm so glad I found Velez Family Health. Dr Velez is very personable and love that she does not push medicines on you, if not necessary. The great thing is that you don't have to spend a lot of time in the lobby waiting. I have definitely found a long-term doctor.

One word? AMAZING!!!!I found a gem in the middle of today's medical and pharmaceutical craziness. I have not seen any doctor in the US taking this much time before. I do believe that medication has it's place but I also believe that the system in this country is making people sick with all the prescriptions for any and - more often than not - no reasons and then more prescriptions to "heal' the side effects . Dr Velez holistic approach, the combination of classical school medicine combined with nutrition and other natural ways of improving health and lifestyle is exactly what I was looking for.
