I had a esophagectomy due to cancer at the GER. The J-tube was not placed correctly and not undiscovered for 2.5 days (the weekend). My feedings were going into my peritoneal cavity and then out 2 of my 4 surgical drains (smelled foul). This required a laparotomy which healed poorly over 3 months. I do not trust teaching hospitals anymore. I had respiratory complications, pneumonia, a fistula at the anastomosis, extreme weakness and became quite dependent on the pain meds which upset my mental state. I made it through and i'm alive. Dr. Franceschi expressed surprise or maybe frustration at my very 'symptomatic' state. I was offered no apology or sympathy for the mistake and the effect it had on my recovery. It was supposed to be 10days in hospital but was 26 days.

During the visit I asked the doctor how can we minimize the scarring from lumpectomy. If we can hide it in the areola area, or maybe I can remove the scar with laser later. He tells me I’m worrying about the wrong thing! Excuse me?! What should I even ask a surgen during my visit about the potential surgery? Are reconstructive surgeries done for nothing or there is an actual underlying reason for that, doctor? Isn’t the deformations of the body put women in depression, creating the stress that affects the immune system as a result? I’m 35 years old and planning on leaving long and happily. Additionally, there are now doctors who specialize in hidden scars surgeries. The fact that you can’t do it, and didn’t advance your techniques for a long time probably, doesn’t mean you gonna tell me not to worry about the potential deformations and scarring I’ll get after the surgery and just accept it as is. This is only an indication of the luck of compassion you’ve got there. Moreover, doctor, the Proton Radiation Therapy is not on trials for breast cancer, it is one of the current radiation therapies approaches but you just have no clue about it. Also, why the heck do you need to correct me on when I said radiologist to radiation oncologist? I’m pretty sure you understood what I was talking about. Maybe you should pay more attention to your patients concerns rather to feed your own arrogance.

Dr Franceschi is a miracle man. He is a no nonsense Doctor who tells it like it is but he got all the my Pancreatic Cancer and so far I’m cancer free and enjoying the extra time I’m been blessed with. I recommend Dido 1000% if God forbid your need of PC surgery. Thx Doc

PLEASE DO NOT TRUST FRANCESCHI WITH YOURSELF OR FAMILY MEMBERS !!!!!!!!!!!!! HE CAUSED MY FATHER TO PASS AWAY DO TO HIS POOR SURGERY SKILLS. MY FATHER SPENT THE LAST 7 MONTHS OF HIS LIFE UNABLE TO EAT ANYTHING BECAUSE OF FRANCESCHI’S LACK OF KNOWLEDGE AND COMPASSION. MY FATHER SUFFERED TERRIBLY WHEN ALL HE NEEDED WAS TO BE ABLE TO EAT AND FRANCESCHI DIDNT DO ANYTHING TO HELP HIM EVEN AFTER HIM KNOWING HE IS THE REASON WHY.
