Dorene Niv's Online Review Report Card

What a disgrace of a medical establishment. Wendy is absolutely nasty, lacks compassion, and treats people as nothing more than a body to cash in on. I had what I believed a great visit with Dr. Niv regarding a sebaceous cyst on a Thursday. She put me on a course of antibiotics to take to reduce inflammation followed by an excision date to occur 4 weeks post. She stood at the front with the lovely receptionist who offered a FRIDAY March 17th date. I advised the front desk that I am able to take Wednesday or Friday off. The receptionist exchanged with Dr. Niv over a few a moments about the time she would need to preform the excision on FRIDAY. As you can imagine there is post procedure protocol such as no work outs for two weeks, no heavy lifting, etc. Not only did I arrange my class memberships to pause for the SET two weeks given the circumstances, I also booked a flight home to Toronto exactly a week after. I received a call from the office less than 48 HOURS prior to the procedure advising that "They do not preform this procedure on Fridays because they are closed on Saturdays and are unable to follow up". SO you mean to tell me the Doctor to be performing this was unaware when standing with the receptionist? This is an organized medical facility who flags this very serious discrepancy two days out? The receptionist passed me along to Wendy who didn't even begin her dialogue with a heartfelt apology or showing any understanding to the inconvenience this is causing given I got all my affairs in order as prescribed and continued to repeat herself "do you want to rebook this or not". DISGUSTING. The next availability she has was early the following week however that wouldnt be possible as I am flying out. SO now the procedure is to be postponed 2.5 weeks or is this unprofessional establishment expecting me to cancel travel do to their incompetence? At the end of the day kindness goes a ridiculous long way especially when you cause THIS level of a mess due to your fault. Dont expect it here, you are just a cash out.

My appointment was with Dr.Dorene Niv. In a very rushed 5 minutes visit she prescribed me stuff that made no improvements, and some of it got slightly worse. On a follow-up I asked to prescribe something else, also looking for additional solutions like laser or microdermabrasion. She instantly became nasty, intimidating and even creepy (her tone, facial expressions and gestures): “I don’t see anything, everything is fine. What do you expect me to do? What do you want?” I even asked if she was okay twice since she sounded so incredibly angry. My condition was better the first time I saw her,and it wasn’t “fine” to her, so she prescribed 3 medications, but today when it looks worse it is suddenly “fine” She also said that they don’t do laser or microdermabrasion, but their website claims the opposite. Stay away from this doctor. She has a very deranged reaction when you simply ask to switch the treatment. She is clearly unprofessional, but beyond that she is agressive.

Dr. Niv has been so helpful over the past year that I have seen her. My first visit was for an infected bug bite. She saw me immediately and was able to treat it and left me with no scaring. The bite was so bad and the infection was spreading. She saved me! I also have seen her for cosmetic injectables which turned about so amazing and natural looking. Lastly, I got a very bad second degree burn on my face and back due to a day on the boat. She prescribed me something to help with the pain and minimize scaring. I recommend her to everyone I know.

We never got to see the Dr.... Office is in my neighborhood...my building. Management said we should give her a try. This past Friday I booked an appointment for my son for yesterday, Wednesday. Between Friday and Tuesday I was contacted 8 times by the office - 5 emails, 2 texts and a phone call. There were a couple of "offers" pitched, but mostly it was the office wanting to confirm, reconfirm and so on that we we would be there. We arrived promptly at 3:00pm. Waiting area was entirely empty. It took 10 minutes to fill out paperwork. Then we waited. 15 minutes later we asked how the doctor was running was on time. They said someone would be out shortly. 10 minutes later someone came and deposited us in a room. We waited there for an additional 30 minutes. When we asked, they said "we were next" and that we had to shut the door because of Hippa. 4:00pm passed, no one came in. We walked out. I haven't seen a Dr's practice run like this in 20 years. No respect.

Dr Niv cared for my daughter’s mole removal and after requesting a plastic surgeon she assured her that she was good at her job and didn’t require one. Ohhhhh if only I could post pictures with this review. The gaping wound left in her back is the most unprofessional job I have ever seen. And to top it off there has been absolutely no follow up phone call from the Doc to check on her or help with the healing progress. Every post visit my daughter has initiated and has been seen by medical assistants. She had to ask for a Dr to please evaluate the wound. Only to be told her Dr Niv wasn’t in that day!!! When she called the next day Dr Niv instructed her to use aquaphor . . . Excuse me, how are you prescribing treatment for a wound you didn’t even access ???? The poor child is left trying to heal a wound on her own with google. She is left packing it with medi honey and praying for the best. I can not stress enough how neglected this case is. Your practice should be ashamed.

If your looking for a Dermatologist you need to seriously book with Dr. Niv. I was suffering from bad acne which she tackled within a month. I know so crazy, but it really happened. She told me it was going to get worse before it got any better. By the end of my visit I had all of my faith in her, and now my skin is almost flawless 3 months later. I am constantly at the gym so I sweat a lot. She made a custom routine for me. Thanks Dr. Niv!!
