Dr. Hornicek removed successfully a Sacral Chordoma from my father. He was very meticulous and explained everything carefully. He has gifted hands since my dad life quality kept even better than the surgery; when others doctors told us that we would walk among other things anymore. I highly recommend Dr. Hornicek. Great human being, with the patient well being always above other things on mind.

Dr. Hornicek removed a sarcoma from my left thigh. Treatment was explained to me in detail, questions answered . Bedside manner is brisk, but he and his team always covered my questions. Dr H. I am sad you left MGH u have been my ortho since I was 12. I am now 29. I’ve had multiple surgeries and he’s the ONLY one who can seem to perform them properly on me. I’ve had 2 other drs operate on me and both surgeries failed. Dr H went back in the first time, and fixed what the other couldn’t. Now this second time around I had a diff dr operate and I am so disappointed I didn’t travel across the country to have him operate on me. I may be heading to UCLA soon ....

In January 2014, Dr. Hornicek and his colleagues at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) surgically removed a large chondrosarcoma tumor from my thoracic spine and chest wall. He's an excellent, highly-skilled surgeon who is compassionate, kind, and empathetic...! Although he moved to the west coast, we still keep in touch and my wife and I consider him a great friend. Nearly seven years later, I'm still alive, cancer free, and healthy thanks to the outstanding medical and surgical skills of Dr. Hornicek and his team at MGH. I highly recommend him if you have a rare type of bone cancer such as chondrosarcoma. He's world-renowned and the BEST in the business...!!!!

I had a fist-sized chondrosarcoma in my hip (ilium). Mayo Clinic suggested a full hip amputation. Hornicek doesn’t charge and arm or a leg. He took my tumor out along with my ilium, psoas muscle and re-attached my glute medias and flute minimus to my abdominal wall. Eighteen months later I’m walking without no desernible limp. I play racquetball, I golf, I ride dirt bikes and motocross. I do everything I did before the surgery. Hornicek rocks, no two ways about it. He’s the one you want.

His wit and dry humor and true concern for his patients will win your over immediately. His team of doctors and staff are great. My only criticism is that some of my follow-up appts I have waited over 2+ hours past my scheduled appt... but this is improving. I'm lucky to be one of his patients!

Dr. Hornicek is a world-renowned surgeon specializing in orthopedic oncology. He diagnosed and skillfully removed a rare soft tissue cancer (know as fibrosarcoma) from my right leg in 2013. He and his team are the best! His wit and dry humor and true concern for his patients will win you over immediately. Unfortunately, because he is so good at what he does, the waits for apt have been ridiculous in the past (2+ hours past your scheduled time), but they are getting better as they are bringing new doctors on his team. I will be a patient of Dr. Hornicek until 2023 as he follows up with his patients for 10 years after surgery. I know I am the best hands!

Dr Hornicek completed what I understand to be a most complicated surgery on my right thigh. Not only did he skillfully remove a second recurrence sarcoma (EMC) and achieved no positive margins, but he also prepared and installed a flap to fill the void. He also installed a metal brace the full length on my femur. He also went into the original resection and cleaned the area as well as removed the periosteum along the full length. Today, one month later, he still owns my thigh and I am walking without a cane. He is a most competent and skillful orthopedic scarcoma surgeon whom I have the utmost respect and admiration.

Dr Hornicek saved me the use of my hand. I visited another ortho onc and he wanted to wait on surgery. Dr. Hornicek knew my tumor needed to be removed....he got it out from a difficult place and I was thrilled with him. I can't say enough about my positive experience with him.
