I had a bad experience here. This office was very discriminating/ racist towards me. The staff likes to skip patients for people they know or for people that speak the same language as them. The provider allowed it. They were very nonchalant about me being skipped and didn’t have any regard for how i felt. This place is hostile and the moral of the staff is low. They dont even greet patients. Im actually appalled that the University of Miami employs staff that treat patients this way. I will never come back to UM dermatology because of this experience.
The staff likes to skip patients for people they know or speak the same language as them. They treated me poorly because Im black. Im sure the doctor tolerates this that’s why they act like this. They were very nonchalant and didnt care I felt the way I felt. It’s sad that people are like this with patients. I dont recommend.
Beware. This doctor is dangerous. I came in for just a refill and he took it upon himself to freeze a wart off my right fifth toe, I didn't ask him to freeze it off and was hesitant but he was insistent telling me it was "not a big deal". This was April in 2021 and 9 months later I'm still in pain. Do not allow him to perform any procedure on you, a good doctor knows the pinky to has the least circulation of all toes and is not fit for that type of wart removal. Pinky toe issues turn to foot issues turn into leg issues then hip issues. None of this crossed his mind, I was just another patient he could charge (and he made sure that needless procedure was charged). I've been in pain for 9 months because of his carelessness, protect yourself and avoid this bad doctor.
Scheduled an appointment for Dr Ivan Camacho for Fri 12/23 @ 8AM but told to arrive at 730AM. I checked in at 733AM and entered the waiting area at 734AM where there was only one other gentlemen waiting. Moments after my arrival, several other patients arrive. By 824AM, I am still in the waiting area. I knock on the glass and ask if the doctor is here and if they are respecting appointments. The lady in the front who is eating with her hands while speaking to me with attitude tells me that the doctor hasn’t arrived and that they go by arrival. I tell her that I was the second one here at 734AM and she tells me “No, you weren’t” and attempts to dismiss me by closing the window on me. I placed my hand to prevent her from closing the window on me and dismissing me. At this point I asked for my copay back to leave. This individual is super unprofessional, rude and combative. And why schedule appointments for a certain time if the doctor isn’t even in on time? Luckily, the staff from next door who work for Dr Scott Elman heard what was going on apologized and asked us if we rather be seen by him who was readily available. Dr Elman’s staff from the front desk to his nurses are extremely professional and courteous. I would never visit Dr Camacho or his staff again, if you are in the need of a dermatologist visit Dr Elman. Your time will be respected and you won’t be given attitude by his staff.
I go to Dr. Camacho for annual skin tests. He is very thorough and lets me know the whole time what he is doing and what, if anything, he finds. He picked up on precancerous skin cells that my previous dermatologist I had been seeing for five years hadn't picked up on. He answers questions I have. His office, if not him, answers through the UChart system very quickly.
I had an appointment with him at Sanitas. I get rushed, he basically just prescribed pills for 3 months without scheduling a mid-term follow up. My skin is starting to react to the pills and I have no way to reach him. His just another insurance worker processing patients.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
