List of Jackson Health System's Reviews
I understand how overworked the ER staff is, and how they have to deal with life and death situations every day. So, I'm not going to complain about any staff, because they were all pretty nice. However, that said, walking in there is what I imagine a 1940s insane asylum must have been like. First of all, the temperature. It's Miami, and we all love a cool room. No one expects the death zone above Mt. Everest. It is so freezing that polar bears would need a light sweater. A nurse told me her feet were numb. It was easily 40-45 degrees in there. However, that's a situation that can be remedied with some blankets. The real problem is how disgustingly filthy it is. Dirty used bandages on the floor, cups of urine just sitting on side tables, crushed Cheetos everywhere, and that's the clean part. The bathrooms are so bad that you expect Ashton Kutcher to leap out yelling "Punk'd!!!!". Urine all over the floors, all over the toilet seats, and worse inside the bowl. It was so awful that I was texting my daughter that I couldn't use the restroom, and she called them to ask if a bathroom could be cleaned. They DID call, I heard the nurse on the phone. No one cleaned. She took me to about 4 bathrooms, each one worst than the last. She was horrified also. ( like I said, the staff was nice). I get that no one wants to clean the ER bathrooms, so maybe that job should be re categorized to a much higher paying position. Once you actually get admitted and sent to a room, it gets substantially cleaner. The specific team of surgeons that I needed were all at Jackson, so I couldn't go to a private hospital. So if you have to go to the Jackson ER, bring a coat, pee first, and take any anti nausea meds you can find. You aren't in for a pleasant ride. All the reviews that complain about the staff seem unfounded. No, they don't serve you tea and scones, but they're caring. Just don't go to the bathroom.
This is by far the WORST HOSPITAL ON THE PLANET. They lack compassion and empathy ESPECIALLY on the 14th floor liver unit. doctor Martin has been the most attentive and most respectful doctor. All other doctors like doctor Johnson, have been so cruel, condescending and neglectful to my father. To the patient.Examples to follow, I requested a bag of ice for my dad this past weekend and not only did it take 45 minutes before I had to go to the nursing station and ask again but then, the nurse gave me the ice and told me to put it in the bags myself since she COULDN'T TOUCH THE BAG!!!!!!! What fuck kind of shit it that??? I was only there for the weekend... so I can imagine my dad was not getting cared for properly before hand.. and asking for water? Forget about it.. also, none of the staff Understand that liver patients with swollen abdomens have fluid build up and pain!! So why aren't you guys doing a damn thing about it?? You always act like "oh what? Pain? This is new.. let me go check with other nurse" and then NOTHING GETS DONE!!no procedure nothing..they just neglect you and leave you to die!!! Awful place to be. i am so upset my father has to be in this hell hole. Reevaluate your staff because they all should go back to school and learn about to care for patients.
Had a wonderful experience when coming here. Doctors were extremely understanding and extremely helpful. They worked with me and gave me plenty of understanding. I felt safe and very cared for here. Everyone was so nice and helpful to my aid. The food here was also very good. I appreciate my time getting medical attention here when I did. I would definitely come back here. They tested me for covid here and I felt comfortable with their other blood tests and medicines they prescribed as well. Great hospital and just excellent professionals running this place who really care about patients, especially for the ancient age of this place!!! I've been coming here for YEARS, and I've just never been disappointed, they've been extremely helpful every time I've come here asking for help! God bless this hospital always for their wonderful medical team!!
I can understand why Jackson Memorial has so many bad reviews!Waiting time anywhere from 1 hour to 2-1/2 hours! That is just a regular appointment for Dermatologist! It also has to many trainees working on you ! Nothing wrong with that, but when you wait for close to two hours , you want to see a real doctor! In my opinion I prefer a real Dermatologist like going back to Walder , than going to a Hospital for services! This place is obviously more for low income folks!! Again nothing wrong with that!!
Parking is the garages is free for the first 2 hours and I believe $3 an hour after that.. they do have a $10 flat rate all day parking in a nearby lot as well that is only a short 10 min walk. Temperatures are checked and masks required at entrance. I have scheduled an appointment and been there for over 3-4 hours over and sometimes they attend me in less than an hr. If you do not qualify for insurance, make sure to ask them about the Jackson card! Low copays and doesn't require a monthly premium! Financial assessments are now being done through the phone and they don't have appt for over 3-4 months so call we'll ahead.
They are just trying to cover up the fact that there service is terrible. They only give slack to tourist who come for the 1st time but they don't want to admit that they don't care for the people who come everyday, those same people who wait more then 10 hours on average, those same people who get temporary solutions and more problems and backlash from the staff. You can't even contact their complaint department because they're biased to believe that their hospital gives this so called excellent service. Don't put any time and money into this unless you are really dying and have nowhere to go, even then I'd request you go to another hospital to get checked.
Nota resident of Miami visiting from New York City recently had an car accident where I hit my right eyes......I was bought to trauma care. I have never experienced anything like this the nurse attempts 6 times to put needle on my left arm after my clothes was ripped the students sent me to X-ray came out the exam all doctors{students) said there was nothing wrong with me nothing showing in the X-ray so I was going to be sent home it hasn't been 45 min after accident, the nurse removes needle from my arms and leave me in bed they haven't gave me nothing for the pain yet. Another doctor(Student) comes and say I need a surgery under my eyes where they will place a metal piece under my eyes so I was going to stay because they couldn't operate me right of way I had to wait 2days. 30 min later a random nurse comes to put a new needle on my right arm, it took them 2hr to be out in my room. I slept about 12hr when I woke up I didn't had nothing covering my right eyes it was exposed to all kind of bacteria. The nurse in charge of me was no where to be found I press the help button many times and no one came to assist me it was horrible painful. The day of surgery I was bought to operation room where they had me on a bed waiting .,.... they bring me inside they put anesthesia I fell of sleep when I wake up my eyes wasn't covered at all exposed no treatment it was really painful I heard them say bring him to X-ray and leave him there. After coming out the X-ray they literally leave me in freezing room by myself I had too literally stand up and walk around because no one wanted to bring me to my room remember no treatment no doctors around once I reach my room my nurse Barbara acting different no assist me not even helping knowing I was in pain. My mother had flew from New York City after knowing the news and they treat her horrible they knowing there is too disability kids which are my siblings they treat her like an animal I won't recommend this location to one especially if you need medical assistance the worts hospital I ever been too. They was going to sent me home with no prescription to recover myself I had to come out of my pocket. DONT COME HERE IF LOVE YOUR LIFE ESPECIALLY YOUR LOVED ONES
The registration lady must have a problem, she squeezed my girlfriend's document and yelled at her, other staff tried to help but the lady is not, we are in a hospital by God, it is an emergency !!!, this was today , you should be more careful with the staff you hire WOW!
Go to another ED. Bedside was terrible from RN and mid level. Left AMA to go to a different ED. From the minute you walk in ED techs dropping f bombs. RN in fast track is rude. Midlevel seems incompetent. Never again
Nasty place.rude staff. Incompetent workers. I would rather go to a veterinarian hospital than here.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
