Thank u doc! Changed my life with neck and spine surgery all in one surgery. I can’t say thank u enuf.
One Million Stars! ✨ Dr. Cuellar gave me my life back. 8 years ago when I was 31 I was involved in a cycling accident while drafting. A cyclist in the front crashed and I did not have enough time to react causing me to crash as well. I fell off the back of my bike onto pavement at nearly 40 mph. I landed right on my spine. My life was completely changed after the accident as daily pain became the norm. I had to give up cycling and backpacking. Prior to the accident I was cycling 150 miles a week and hiking long trails like the Appalachian trail and others. I could no longer carry anything on my back or turn the pedals on my bike as pushing down and pulling up was extremely painful. I was bootstrapping my business at the time and did not have the money to have surgery but I did try physical therapy and chiropractic which did nothing. My L4/L5 was bone on bone with zero space between. Even putting on pants or other basic ADL’s was painful and I was never comfortable sleeping etc Fast forward to this year when I decided to finally invest in my health and found Dr. Cuellar after researching the best type of surgery for my collapse (artificial disc replacement vs fusion) and then the best surgeon. Unfortunately my insurance did not cover this surgery. This was a massive disappointment but I can honestly say that this surgery was worth every penny I paid. Having my life back is priceless. Now to the surgery itself. Dr Cuellar and his entire team were very kind and patient leading up to the surgery and explaining everything. I had my surgery at Lake Worth surgical center. Every member of their staff was also outstanding. I was terrified before surgery (I admit I did cry a little) but honestly it was a breeze. When I woke up I didn’t even realize the surgery was already over. I was discharged shortly after waking up. The crazy thing is that the day after the surgery I was already in LESS pain then I had been prior to surgery in spite of surgical pain. I was immediately walking (I actually had to keep myself from walking too much). I’m now just over 4 weeks post surgery and I feel AMAZING! I am still avoiding bending etc but I’m walking around 4 miles a day on the treadmill (flat and slow). For the first time in 8 years I can get my pants on easily instead of having to make multiple painful attempts to get my second leg in. Anyhow I could go on and on. I am hopeful about the future and my continued recovery. I said I would never ride my bike again (obviously some ptsd trauma there) But the other day I found myself thinking about maybe riding again. I’m happy to speak to anyone considering this surgery or Dr. Cuellar. My name is Joanna and you can DM me on instagram under @ashevilleglamping Photos of me and my bike before the accident and of the surgery before and during attached
Dr. Cuellar's surgery was life-changing for me. After years of back pain, culminating in a year of being largely immobile, the artificial disc replacement has eliminated all of my pain. He really has given me my life back. In addition to being a great surgeon, he's an amazing person and the most responsive doctor I have ever dealt with. There really aren't enough superlatives!
Following a car accident I saw many doctors who all recommended a spinal fusion. However as the owner of a landscape business, mobility was a must for me so I decided to research options on my own and decided a disc replacement was the only option. I was willing to travel but thankfully that wasn’t necessary with Dr. Cuellar establishing a practice here in Florida. He absolutely gave me my life back. I am confident I’ll remain pain free for years to come thanks to him. Dr. Cuellar- thank you.
My experience has been all positive, I had a life changing L5/S1 disc replacement surgery with remarkable positive results, better than I expected. Dr Cuellar is a brilliant spine surgeon!
Skilled, thoughtful, and excellent bedside manner. Performs some advanced techniques not readily available in many places. Grateful to have him in our area!
Why don’t more doctors do minimally invasive endoscopic spine surgery? Even with laser. All fusions aren’t necessary and alternatives like endoscopic spine surgery that is minimally invasive meaning drops of blood, millimeter size wounds and faster recovery time like on your feet in the same day are better an humane. Just wondering is it always just about money made? Prayers and blessings to anyone suffering!
Dr. Cuellar did a miracle with my L5/S1 following a car accident. I'm now 6 weeks post-surgery, still recovering but the back pain is totally gone. HIGHLY recommended!
I have had herniated discs for years—but I never fully understood what that meant. I have had muscle spasms, numbness, and pain—but I felt like spine surgery was a “big deal” - it is! But Dr. Jason Cuellar performs surgery on athletes, dancers, and all types of people who rely on their bodies! Dr. Jason Cuellar is trustworthy, gentle, brilliant, and a calm surgeon who is patient and attentive. His support team is AMAZING and they treat your situation with care and accountability. Before finding Dr. Cuellar and his team, I was not ready for surgery—but he won over my trust and I am SO SO GRATEFUL AND APPRECIATIVE. —I want everyone to know that Dr. Cuellar will help you and treat your unique situation with care. I got SO SO LUCKY because Dr. Cuellar is an amazing surgeon! I had neck pain, arm pain, neurological symptoms (numbness & weakness in my arms, as a result of cervical nerve compression). Dr. Jason Cuellar is one of the leading cervical spine surgeons in the United States—and, after analyzing my MRIs, he enrolled me in a medical study he is doing, The study is specifically if you need “2-level” cervical disc replacement. Dr. Jason Cuellar is one of the few surgeons in the United States who can enroll you in a study that will cover ALL COSTS and give you three options to fix your cervical spine discs. If you have damage to 2 cervical discs that need to be replaced, they can enroll you in the Centinel Spine study program that is able to use Mobi-C Cervical Discs or two other options (which are used in Europe) “prodisc C SK” or “pro disc C Vivo”…Thanks to the Dr (and his team) I got enrolled me in the Centinel Spine study program. I HIGHLY recommend enrolling in the study—literally, I got VIP treatment and ALL COSTS covered for a surgery that I needed anyway. I was never rushed or pressured, and—immediately—after the surgery, some of my symptoms were resolved. Background: I had herniated discs for over 10 years. Progressively, the pain got worse and worse. I tried pain medication, I tried self-medicating, I try acupuncture, chiropractors, meditation, yoga, physical therapy, but at the end of the day… my neck and back ached, it challenging for me to breathe, and I was in constant numbness and pain. But people kept telling me: “don’t have back/spine surgery until you absolutely need it.” —But there was never a sign that says “THE TIME IS NOW” so I kept delaying… if I can say anything to you, it would be “THE TIME IS NOW” —Nerve pain and nerve damage gets progressively worse, so I urge you to trust Dr. Jason Cuellar and his office. I never pressured and they ALWAYS answered my phone calls and emails asap. I was treated like a VIP with them, and they helped arrange some of my pre-operative appointments. After reviewing my MRIs, the doctor told me (the same as I had heard before) that I needed to replace two of my Cervical discs with artificial discs. After meeting Dr. Jason Cuellar, I knew immediately that I’d be in great hands. Due to Covid, I waited a year to have the surgery because I was scared—but I WISH I HAD IT SOONER! Dr. Cuellar is an amazing AMAZING surgeon. He trained with plastic surgeons and my scar is barely noticeable. Within 2 days after surgery, I was walking around and it was an out-patient procedure . I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Cuellar and his medical team /staff. They accepted my insurance, and I’m so grateful! I hope this helps you too—wishing you a great day and hope you GET HELP with Dr. Jason Cuellar ASAP! - I ignored my symptoms for way too long, so I hope my review encourages you to reach out to Dr. Cuellar and his team because they will help you to get treatment for your spine and discs. (Thank you again Dr. Cuellar - you’re amazing and so is your team!)
He is everything I have stated in the title and there is never a very long wait to get in to see him. He is not like any other surgeon I’ve ever seen. I highly recommend him.
