Jeffrey Horstmyer's Online Review Report Card

I do not recommend this doctor. I went to see him after a recent onset of migraines. I did not understand the condition or many of my new symptoms. I was not under any medication. This doctor took 2 personal calls while evaluating me for the first time. He did not educate me on migraines or any plan of care. He seems too busy to discuss these new symptoms that are disrupting my life. He sent me 2 strong medications without any explanation of possible side effects and told me I had migraines. When I called him regarding the medication he never called me back. I drove from Palm Beach County to see him for an entire 10 minutes. It turns out that I have chronic vestibular migraines that can mimic a stroke with Meniere's disease. Very scary symptoms. If he would have stopped talking on the phone and paid attention to his new patient perhaps this visit would not have been a waste of time.

Went to see him because I was diagnosed with MS. He has no manners. Received and answered personal calls on his cell during my consultation. When deciding on medication, he just gives me a list of drugs, that only contained names and frequencies of applications. How can I figure out which one with this little information. THANK GOD, I WENT TO ANOTHER NEUROLOGIST!

Dr. Horstmeyer was personable & friendly during my visit. His office was tidy & there was only one person ahead of me in the waiting room. He was very reassuring after having taken the time to listen & answer all my questions.

Dr. Horstmyer and his team, especially Ernestina, were absolutely a delight to work with. They were prompt, professional. caring, and incredibly helpful. I wholeheartedly recommend them as a practice. Sincerely, Cameron

Worst experience at a Doctors office. I waited 1 hour and 40 min and absolutely no one had the decency to apologize for the waiting or at least provide an excuse for the tardiness. Twice (once at the 1 hr mark and then 1:15 min mark) I went outside to let the office staff know that I was still waiting. They don’t respect or care about patients.

I really really hope people see this review. This man prescribed me Mirtazapine for sleep. I asked him if there were any possible bad side effects at all, he said there were none. He didn't tell me anything else, he didn't ask my mental history to question whether or not it would be safe for me, etc. I trusted him at the time, but I researched the drug once I received it. Mirtazapine is labeled as a black box drug by the FDA because of the risk of suicidal thoughts and/or tendencies. These kinds of drugs are much more dangerous for people like myself who have suffered from depression and suicidal thoughts before. I am in recovery, I have made a lot of progress: if I had taken this drug without researching it, it could've undone all the progress I've made and bring me back to the horror I experienced before. Not only is there the black box warning, there are studies done proving this drug can cause suicidal behaviors. The warning isn't there for no reason. When I went to talk to this man about my concerns, he dismissed the facts I showed him, and laughed at me saying this could be dangerous. Do you want a doctor who laughs at you when you voice your concerns about something that could've been dangerous for you??? He said because none of *his* patients alone had had that reaction, that proved this drug wasn't dangerous, regardless of not only statistic proof and a warning from the FDA but also my personal experience with black box drugs that I tried to tell him about. He then walked out on me when I tried to explain further and wouldn't listen to a word I had to say. If you want a medical professional who you can trust, do not go to this man. He does not care about your well being. By the way, this is Seraphina Atlas, I'm just on an alternative account, so you can't say I'm not a real patient. This man is a terrible narcissist. Go to someone who will care about you, give you true information on the medication you're prescribed, and takes you on time instead of 40 mins late like they did for me.

I have been a patient of Dr. Horstmyer for some time now and he is very thorough, he'll listen to my questions (and I always have lots) and he recommended a medication for my epilepsy that has helped me tremendously and it's only once a day.

Today, 11-18-2022 we had and appointment with Dr. Horstmyer. Our visit with Dr. Horstmyer was very positive, test results were discussed and the Dr. was very friendly and as personable as before. We also discussed the treatment to follow and we are looking forward to the next visit. Our interaction with the receptionist was outstanding.

This doctor is one of the most arrogant doctors I have ever seen. He will not listen to you and interrupts you when you try to explain your symptoms. He completely misdiagnosed me and just wanted to push pills on me that I said I had a bad reaction to previously. This is a lazy doctor and I wouldn’t ever recommend him to anyone.
