Jessica Hochberg's Online Review Report Card

We had a very negative experience with Dr. Hochberg. Our son was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma and the experience was not great from the start. She always seemed rushed, impatient and dismissive, even when she first confirmed his diagnosis with us. We did not even receive a courtesy follow up call to check in on our son following his first chemo treatment. In fact, we never even received one proactive phone call from either her or her team throughout the month that he was under their care. Too often we were left to figure out important issues on our own, including getting answers on serious side effects following a surgical procedure. There was no one to facilitate the rescheduling of a surgery that had been canceled by the surgeon’s office. This is unacceptable and truly unbelievable, especially when dealing with sick children and their families. Her lack of compassion, empathy and communication leaves much to be desired and we are very happy and getting excellent care at MSK.

This doctor was awful. She did not seem very knowledge and further she had absolutely no follow up on test results —which were in fact positive and require treatment. We were just left to figure it out on our own with no information from her, a call with results? Nope. Not a position a parent wants to be in when their child first tests positive for a blood disorder. When earlier I had tired to follow up on tests- she was impatient, rude and had no empathy whatsoever for a waiting parent and patient. Frankly, I’m not certain why this person is even in pediatric medicine. This is not the person I would ever want to go through an ordeal with, I would not recommend anyone see this doctor. The desk staff, however, is amazing. This doctor is absolutely awful..
