We are so fortunate to have Bascom Palmer Eye Institute to be the guardians of our eyesight. I count myself blessed to have been in the care of Dr. Justin Townsend and his brilliant team of residents and interns (Dr. Godunny being at the top of that list). After an out-of-town fall that sent my right eye crashing into a sharp-edged table, I was left with a loss of vision and a painful shiner. My wonderful Opthamologist, Dr. Andrew Nolan, out of town at the time, referred me to Bascom Palmer Emergency in Miami. Two surgeries later, my retina has been reattached and the follow-up care boosts confidence in having the best vision an old lady like I can hope for. To say they’re saving my eyesight is the least I can say. Dr. Townsend and his team are brilliant, kind and heroes to those of us who know them.

Had an emergency retinal tear laser surgery several years ago. Dr. Townsend was competent, thorough and I had no further complications. The only downside is he unfortunately has no personality, warmth or ‘bedside manner’ I have several friends who had the same experience with him.

DR JUSTIN TOWNSEND IS GOD SENT. HE IS VERY CARING COMPASSIONATE AND RESPECTFUL. HE WAS AWESOME DURING MY LAST EYE SURGERY AND GAVE ME LOTS OF HOPE. HE MADE MY CHILDREN VERY SECURE IN KNOWING HE WOULD DO EVERYTHING IN HIS POWER TO HAVE A SUCCESSFUL SURGERY. I LOVE THIS DOCTOR AND WOULD RECOMMEND HIM TO ANYONE IN SEARCH OF A AWESOME EYE DOCTOR

Dr. Townsend saved my vision! I have had a total of 7 eye surgeries. My last surgery was by Dr. Townsend and he was a Godsend!!
