Doctor is very knowledgeable and I trust him blindly. He was incredibly helpful with my son's atopic dermatitis and eczema. However, I am quite disappointed in the staff within the department of dermatology at UM. Dr. Schachner is in my network, yet they refuse to give me an appointment or be helpful in any way. When I asked how much the visit would be out of pocket and if a discount might be offered for a low income family, I was basically snubbed. SO PRETENTIOUS. Will not be back.

Dr. Schachner is the most knowledgeable pediatric dermatologist I know. My children have both had rare skin conditions and I have visited most specialists in South Florida. Dr. Schachner was the only one who made an accurate diagnosis, treatment and follow-up. He is also very warm and caring. He sees few patients a week, but it is worth it to wait for an appointment. He is, in my opinion, the best.

My daughter has been suffering with eczema since she was an infant and is now nine years old. Our pediatrician recommended we go down to Miami to see Dr. Schachner. We have been to many different doctors including Dermatologists and Allergists and were hesitant to drive an hour away to see yet another Doctor. Dr. Schachner was kind and asked questions to my daughter as well as my husband and myself. He took the time to get to know her interests and also asked her little sister questions about herself. Dr. Schachner set her up on a plan with different creams and an antibiotic once a month for a week. My daughter's skin has improved. It is not perfect because you cannot cure Eczema but because this Doctor took the time to listen and not just prescribe creams and run out the door made all the difference in the world. I highly recommend Dr. Schachner!
