Dr. Barrios is kind and gentle. She treated me with utmost care and patience during my stressful situation. I highly recommend her if you are looking for or need a doctor who will sit with you and go over your plan of care in a detailed fashion without rushing. Dr. Barrios is the surgeon to go to. She is an “Old School “ doctor. I could tell she genuinely cared about my progress. She even called me after my discharge to follow up. As an added bonus, her office staff is just as kind, patient and caring as she is. I hope I never need her services again but if I do, I would not think twice about where to go. I have highly recommend her to several friends. Thank you Dr. Barrios, your kindness and care has meant the world to me.

I cannot imagine using a more caring or competent surgeon. She communicated with me before and after, many times. And all this happened WHILE she was moving office spaces. I am lucky that my Internist knew and recommended Dr. Barrios immediately. We were/are a good fit. I have another post-op appointment, and am following her recommendations to the letter. If I ever need her knowledge and skill sets again, I wouldn’t hesitate in using her. I would recommend her without reservation. And I thank her for her kindness, her compassion, and her expertise.

Dr Barrios is a wonderful doctor, she is not only exceptional in her medical skills but she is also kind and supportive. I had my life in her hands and I felt completely safe having her to take care of me.

Dr. Barrios recently treated my aunt and she could not have a done a better job. My aunt is 86 years old and had been feeling very sick for months. For the last four months, she was constantly calling her primary doctor and her gastroenterologist to see what can be done to help her. However, due to the pandemic, they were unable to see her. Her condition worsened to the point where on August 17 my aunt was admitted to the emergency room at Mercy Hospital in a very poor condition. Due to Covid-19, I was unable to be with my aunt at the hospital when she was admitted. Upon arrival, it was determined that was she was septic and needed an emergency surgery. Dr. Barrios performed the emergency surgery. Unfortunately, Dr. Barrios was not able to complete the initial surgery due the dire condition of my aunt – my aunt was immediately moved to the intensive care unit to be stabilized for the completion of the surgery.
