When one thinks of Baptist, you expect you'll have a great experience, both with the providers and the staff. This has proven true the many times my family and I have received medical care at this facility. Unfortunately, this was not the case when seeking care for GI issues. I am incredibly disappointed. Responsiveness is non-existent, even after trying through different avenues of communication. Dr. Arevalo was nice enough in our initial appointment and explained everything thoroughly. We discussed labs he would be ordering and the options for treatment. We also discussed that should the initial treatment not work out, we had other options we could try. The following day I was informed by the pharmacy that the treatment prescribed had no generic. Ever since then, I have been making futile attempts to get a prescription for an alternative treatment. Timeline: 3/1/2021 • Initial appointment with Dr. Arevalo. 3/2/2021 • Rx ready for pick-up; informed of no generic. • Called Dr's office to inform them and ask for alternate tx - was told the message would be passed along. 3/5/2021 • Called office again, was told the same thing. 3/10/2021 • Ms. Quinones sent lab order to my email. • I called her direct line and left voicemail. • Followed up with an email asking that the doctor please submit a prescription with alternative tx and explaining the situation. 3/16/2021 • I called front desk again. They said they would have Ms. Quinones call me • Followed up with yet another email to Ms. Quinones. 3/17/2021 • I called front desk once more. Front desk said the issue would be escalated to the office manager. Did not hear back for the remainder of the day. At this point, I am no longer interested in their services and I will be seeking care elsewhere.

I wish I could say wonderful things about Dr. Arevalo but the circumstances do not allow it. I have only met once, after the colonoscopy, and it was there that he said I would be called for an appointment when my results came back. Since then, I never heard from him again. As a matter of fact, I have called twice his office and left explicit messages requesting a reply: nothing.

Dr. Arevalo has been taking care of my Gastro issues going on 3 years now. He is an amazing physician. He listens and takes you into consideration also tries to find the best solution for you possible.
