Jeanet Guevara
My husband was scheduled for an x-ray at 4:45 PM. They were running behind. I told him to turn his ringer off. 3-1/2 hours later I hadn’t heard from him and got no answer when I called. The institute had been closed several hours and the service couldn’t even contact security to let me know he was okay. If they are keeping patients after hours they need a receptionist or security office that answers the phone. They kept him past 8PM.
Best hospital to be at when dealing with breast cancer. Specially under the care of Dr. J. Mendez, Dr. S. Garrido, Dr. Salinas & Dr. M. Rodriguez as well as Kristen Galamaga and Marie Fernandez, Guissel Molina, Sandra Cohen and all the nurses and everyone else who was part of the team who took great care of me. I am forever grateful with all of you and MCI.🙌🏻🙏🏻💪🏻❤👍🏻❤🎀
I had an awful ansd stressful experience this time with the financial department specially with Yulian Gonzalez. First ,he does not return the patient calls when is needed., second he is disrespectful, unkind and not willing to resolve issues to the cancer patients . I was not asking for free labs , I have insurance always had . It was a simple issue with the insurance at the time he wanted to verify my covarages. My account was lock and it took me tears and a terrible moment to be able to do labs yes only labs!! He question the urgency of me needing the labs , he question the doctor's decision for me to do it a week before . I do not think that that is his job. I do not think any patient and more any cancer patient shoul be treated disrespectfully and without compassion .The less that we wanted is to be there .On a positive note I want to thank Doctor Nahas for his knowlwdge , dedication and kindness, I also have to thank his team and his Assistant Pedro Av for his kind words and patient. I also like to thank the registration girl for going an extra mile to help me and solve the issue and Gloria for her diligence to solve the issue.I do not know if my opnion matter but the less we wamt as patients is to be discourage. Administration and patient care can not be divorce.
Hello Olga.Iam sure that thousands of people are diagnosed with pre-cancerous conditions. A news that may induce fear and panic in those receiving it. While pre-cancer if it goes unchecked may ultimately become cancerous. That is the reason that I’ve been consistently calling the clinic. I had left countless messages and emails since I was told the news. My state of mind was already playing tricks on me which I know impact in the diagnosis, treatment process. I wanted to go to another hospital that would listen or at least return a call. After more than 10 messages in 3 weeks, more than 5 emails and 2 messages to the patient care desk. I just wanted to know one question “when’ I’ll have my surgery???. . Everyone that answered said I can only transfer you to a recording. Sometimes that voice message were full and I had to call again. The voice messages says “ I will call you if your call is before 4Pm. I never received. Call back until I got Olga. Olga answered the phone, listened and got me answers. Hours later someone called me with my surgical date. To my even bigger surprise, Olga called me again to see if I have gotten a call. Yesss Olga, I felt her love over the phone and the countless times she reassured me that she will be with me and look out for me the rest of my process. Olga is definitely an amazing human being, a responsable, loving woman. God bless you Olga. Thank you for all you do.Elvira CuevasPatient of Doctor Lopez Penalbel
My dr here is excellent and his immediate staff awesome, However every other dept is awful , from receptionist to ins dept .... you walk in they look at you like they are doing you a favor . I called about 4 times to their insurance verfication dept , each time I was told something different had to reschedule a simple ct scan because they didnt know how to call my insurance and get a procedure authorized . OMG It wasnt because my insurance didnt approve it , it was because each time I called to check up they HADN'T done it ... wth ... baptist should have saved some of the money they spent on views and chairs and floor and decor and invested in good workers!!!
I hate MCI, your head and neck ads, your patient affairs department, and the doctor who ruined my husband's health. Your radiation at the old building destroyed our lives and nobody cares. Your lame effort of concern was a huge disappointing joke. I will NEVER recommend you.I find it interesting that other complaints go a response but no one saw fit to inquire why I am so upset.
My husband Chris Fernandez was diagnosed with Colon Cancer back in January 25, 2021. He was referred to Dr. Aparo by Dr. Lopez-Luciano.We are immensely thankful for the wonderful doctors, nurses, volunteers, and staff members at the Miami Cancer Institute that made my husband's Chemos almost pleasant and fun. Special thanks to Dr. Aparo and Richard, APRN, you guys are great, you're the BEST. They both answered every single question/concern I had, they are very professional and patient. The nurses in the infusion department are all wonderful, very compassionate, patient, and caring, they ALL went above and beyond to make sure my husband feel comfortable at all time. Yesterday Aug. 12, 2021 was my husband's last Chemo. We understand it doesn't end here, there's more appointments to go and more test to be done, but we've learned to be patient in the Lord. During this process, He was also seen by Dr. Odia, she is mazing too as well as her staff. Thank you everyone at MCI; from the parking lot, security, registration, infusion, 1st floor, appointments dept. to Doctors...thank you all :)
My wife is a patient of the Kendall Facility. I have to say that parking is a nightmare. Out of 6 floors on the parking area, how is it possible that 4 Floors are VIP???? For a patient with medical issues looking at a parking space in the sixth floor is ridiculous!!
Excellent…..

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
