Great doctor great hematologist awesome bedside manners unfortunately I can't say the same about HCA Mercy hospital!
I hate to give Dr. Astarita one star but she needs to get a new person to handle appointments. Norma, who is responsible for scheduling appointments, was incredibly rude, disrespectful, and never called me back to confirm an appointment. She talked over me, rushed me off the phone, called me 'honey'... Disappointing.
Waited 2 months to see this doctor.. the office seemed disorganized.. dingy .. wasn’t told on the phone that this doctor does rounds at hospital and pretty much has no regards for patients times of appointments. So technically your scheduled two month wait appointment means absolutely nothing cause our time doesn’t matter. Pretty much took my weight and left me in a back chair waiting for hours. Staff had no clue when doctor was coming in . Extremely disappointed don’t waste your time . They don’t appreciate it
I love Doctor Astarita.yes the wait time can be longer than expected.Once your with her she doesn't rush you out the door..She explains everything so you understand.Shes loving and has a huge heart ..she has a great staff. The chemo Male Nurse is the absolute best.!! He's busy and makes sure everyone is taken care of.Its always so nice to walk in to what can be a stressful time in one's life.he has a heart of gold.Thank you all so much.
I was in the hospital 4 months ago for blood clots. I have a major blood clotting condition. I finally received a phone call from the doctor two weeks ago to schedule an appointment immediately to go over my test results (not a fun topic to hear after waiting so long). I’ve tried to be patient and understanding but at this point I feel as if they could care less if I dropped dead. I’ve called the past two weeks with no ability to even make an appointment. The staff is extremely rude, they don’t answer the phones and they even admit that…. I understand it’s a busy time for everyone but to give someone “bad news “ then not have them be able to even make an appointment to hear said “bad news” is extremely frustrating. I’ve been medicating myself because it’s obvious they don’t care. My previous hematologist from another state has been more responsive and is also completely dumbfounded as to how this practice is even running. The doctor is great when you actually get to see her, which I haven’t for four months since getting out of the hospital.. I’m not sure what the disconnect is with this practice.
I just call to make an appointment and I had the worst experience ever. The administrative assistant is so unprofessional.
When you go see her, their are 2 people that work in the office that are super rude, and give people dirty looks when you ask them to do something. Like make another appointment. Sad because she is a good Doctor.
THIS PLACE IS A JOKE! DON'T SAY I DID'NT WARN YOU! DON'T COME TO THIS PLACE!
Excelente doctora, super recomendada, al igual que Barbie y Elsa son super amables ellas son del staff

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
