List of MIchelle Barnes Bonilla's Reviews
This extremely incompetent "internal medicine D.O." destroyed my FACE in 2008 with an extremely abrasive laser I NEVER NEEDED. I went there for skin tightening - I did not even need it for my olive skin hides my age very well but bc I'm a lawyer and always did videos and presentations in the US and abroad, my appearance has always been linked to my professional success. If she knew anything about dermatology she would have known that olive skin is highly prone to hyperpigmentation. I never even knew what melasma or hyperpigmentation were till after this EXTREMELY irresponsible, money-starved and stupid fool did the most abrasive laser on my face. It's now TEN YEARS of sheer suffering everyday. My face became 5 shades darker than the rest of my body and full of blemishes. 10 YEARS OF SUFFERING and the damage she caused me is irreversible! To try to correct the damage, she did also a v.i. peel INCORRECTLY, doing it differently by her OWN decision bc she then noticed my skin was very sensitive. Bc of her INCORRECT application of the chemical peel she burned my face even worse! Any competent and REAL DERMATOLOGIST should know that olive, Mediterranean and African skin are NOT skins for abrasive lasers as we have too much melanin. Sadly, I only learned all that on my own and after the fact. I had PERFECT and BLEMISH FREE skin and DERMACARE MEDICAL RECORDS CONFIRM THAT! If she was not so desperate to make a sale and had ANY KNOWLEDGE about skin, she'd not have me pay $2,500 to acquire a problem that plagues women horribly: melasma or hyperpigmentation. In my case, I was BLEMISH FREE! I hardly ever used make up - yet I paid 2500 to gain one of the WORST and incurable problems that depresses women tremendously. The laser changed my biological make up, I became ultra sensitive to any light and have NEVER AGAIN gone to the beach or exposed my face without a huge hat, sunglasses and loads of expenisve sunblock and top quality makeup EVERY SINGLE DAY since she destroyed my face in 2008! I went to SEVERAL doctors, tried several other treatments. There's no cure and NOTHING WORKS! I became a different woman. My life and psyche changed completely. From extreme bounds of depression and suicidal ideation, with time, prayer, counseling and support by family and friends I learned that I must maintain the best possible outlook in life despite this misfortune. I've accepted that I'm doomed to have to cover up my face and never enjoy outdoors leisure activities for the rest of my life for ANY LIGHT makes the blemishes and the overall face much darker and worse. I had trusted this woman so blindly and initially I really thought I'd regain my face back through treatments for I had never had skin problems. I tried to take legal action back then but DERMACARE carries NO INSURANCE so no attorney took my case. I tried to take legal action against the chemical peeling company and they blew me away bc she MISAPPLIED THE TREATMENT. Contrary to this woman, I'm a very good-hearted person, extremely zealous and competent lawyer who have helped hundreds of immigrants to settle in this country very nicely for almost 20 yrs. I have no interest nor pleasure in destroying anyone's name but what this lady and DERMACARE did to me is a clear display of EGREGIOUS CONDUCT AND THE MOST RECKLESS DISREGARD TO A PERSON'S WELLBEING. Go somewhere else. Your face is extremely important and we live far too long. She had probably just graduated when I went to see her yet she "sold herself and her treatments" as if she really knew what she was doing. To add insult to injury, thereafter I fell pray to yet another scammer, NON DERMATOLOGIST w/ billboards and beautiful clinics - Dr. Pascual in Aventura whose clinic has disappeared after she also burned many ppl. Please SPARE YOUR FACE AND BODY AND SOUL from the pain Ive endured for 10 years and all the money Ive spent and will remain spending for as long as I live. To be candid, I was told by all to be a beautiful woman - for years I dread when I see what my facial skin became. 10 YEARS OF DAILY suffering... GO ELSEWHERE!!! All I said is the truth and NOTHING but the truth and with the best intentions to spare others from the irreparable loss (my once flawless facial skin), pain and suffering I've endured for 10 years! And I am lawyer yet I had ZERO relief or compensation for the PERMANENT damage she caused to my face!
Dr. Barnes and her staff are amazing!!
Excellent surgeon
I've been seeing Dr. Barnes for a couple of years for Botox and Perlane injections. She's very humble & happens to be beautiful -- but don't let that trick you -- the doc is gifted! Previously, I had been to other derms/plastic surgeons, but I was never 100% satisfied. It either looked like too much, or I couldn't tell a difference. Her trademark seems to be a subtbtle, yet remarkable look. Her dexterity is also amazing -- she has different artful techniques for different wrinkles. On my first visit she correctly guessed which side of my face I sleep on: she tailors her technique to the specific wrinkle she's working on. She instills confidence. My perception is that my face looks more symmetrical -- and about ten years younger! The doc's assistants and staff are competent and warm; they will put you at ease. The prices are very competitive, yet the results are superior.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
