Experiencing a liver emergency through the luck of a cancellation, I was able to meet with Dr. Martin. He was thorough and compassionate in interviewing me and immediately ordered lab testing to verify his suspicions. Before I arrived home, he emailed me with results setting in motion an endoscopy with Dr. Amin. At the time if the procedure, he visited with me giving further assurance that all would go well. Thereafter, he directed me to Dr. Kutlu who performed the removal of my gallbladder. He then met with me virtually to discuss collateral results of the surgery and urged me to have Hepatitis AB vaccines (which I did) and meet with Dr. Hoffman based upon other concerns. In conclusion, he has become my “go to” physician. He is sincere, experienced, and knowledgeable with a terrific manner of concern.

There is a reason why there aren't any reviews.U of Miami Hepatology is a Patient Mill. They show no compassion nor caring about their patients. there are no ancillary services available everything is processed at maximum capacity without respect for the individual. Appointment availability is outrageously months and months no matter what your condition. I was fortunate to get the treatment & medication however support was very minimal. They negated the side effects I was experiencing. Once it was completed and the outcome successful, they no longer had any need to provide me with care and promptly discharged me as a patient without offering any kind of assistance or advice other than "go to your primary care provider orthe emergency room if there's a problem" and there might be a chance of seeing or speaking with your doctor that way. They don't do virtual visits. I am actually a healthcare worker and I'm appalled because this is really the only hospital offering specialty treatment for Hepatological Issue available actually to anyone in the South. I came from New York Hospital, New York Cornell to be exact and the care that I received there was much more compassionate and much more caring and much more tailored to the individual than anything that I received here. I am glad that my cure was effective but that had nothing to do with the doctor or the care that I received at Uhealth . They play games with appointments and services rendered. Every visit took major planning as I live an hour away.My health success was purely from the medicine which I was fortunate enough to have covered by my insurance plan and now is being offered at a lower cost. Providers just don't respect Hepatology patients there they look at us as if there's something wrong with us and that we're bad people. My advice is don't frustrate yourself and don't run the risk of letting time go by try to find another specialist maybe it would be better somehow to get to New York Hospital /Cornell if you're a care needs are critical and you require decision making support and compassionate care. They only had one Dr. Available for me. Staff are generally overloaded there and under stress so there's lot of misdirection and cobfusion . Glad I don't really require continued services there. I can see a a Hepatologist elsewhere. Their manner is an insult to patient integrity. They act like their care is above standard however it isn't.

Bedside mannor is horrible, doesn't communicate with patients, makes patients see a nurse in lieu of talking to him. Skip him and go to another facility.

Total waste of time. Would never recommend him to anyone

I was called back before my appointment time. I was given ample time to explain my issues and ample time to ask questions. I found Dr. Martin to be extremely thorough and liked him very much.

When I saw Dr. Martin, he made a wrong diagnosis, and recommended I have a Liver Transplant, which was never needed. I could have died from this unnecessary surgery. Rather than only listen to him, I got a second opinion from another doctor in the same department, who knew the correct diagnosis. I underwent an unnecessary liver biopsy from Dr. Martin's care, and suffered years of pain from this biopsy. All that was needed was a non invasive scan. STAY AWAY from this arrogant, ignorant, uncaring doctor.

Dr. Martin is not a nice person, not personable at all! His Assistant is the worst! Miami Hospital was very good though.

DIfficult to schedule appointments; abyssmal follow-up from both Dr. Martin and his staff. Ultimately a complete lack of attention for a patient who needed a high level of care. The expectation was that The University of Miami would be an institution that provided exceptional care; the care received specifically at this office and throughout the institution has me cautioning anyone against sending a loved one there, ever.
