Don’t recommend
I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Martin one month in advance. Two days before the appointment, I received a call to confirm the appointment. Again another call to confirm the appointment was received the day before the appointment. I showed up the day of my scheduled appointment just to be notified that the doctor doesn’t work on Thursdays. The girl in the front desk was extremely rude. She even demand to show her the text that they sent to confirm the appointment. It’s sad that the doctors in that office will lose their clientele just for having unprofessional staff.
This review is not for doctor Berg, I’m sure she’s a great doctor and was highly recommended to her by another well recognized OB who’s no longer taking new patients. Unfortunately the front desk is a mess. I called to make an appointment with her and upon sending all the required labs and referral I thought I got the appointment with Dr Berg as requested via phone and the faxed direct referral specifically said Dr Berg, I was looking for a female OB as I am a female doctor and feel more comfortable. Upon my arrival to the appointment I was greeted rudely by the front desk “ID, insurance card, and payment “ was my welcome to the office. At that time I was informed my appointment was scheduled with Dr Martin, also I was never informed the don’t take Amex and was the only card I had on me. As I was already there I decided to stay and be seen by Dr Martin. Had to call some family to provide a different card and then finally I was able to check in. Dr Martin was very pleasant, knowledgeable, and kind. I was given the option to see Dr Berg at a different day. I couldn’t make it to this appointment and multiple calls were made to let them know about my cancellation and need to reschedule. The front desk placed me on hold for long times until the calls dropped, and they even hung up the phone once. I called after hours and there’s no voicemail so I couldn’t leave a message. Again, nothing with the doctors, but they should really improve the patient management skills at the front desk. I will not be coming here again given the lack of communication, rudeness, provider changes without notice, etc. My intention with this review is to prepare future patients of what to expect and ideally to create a positive change among the front desk staff towards the patients.
There aren’t enough words! Kind, efficient, explains things and goes out of her way when she needs to find something out for you, answers questions, and gentle.
Dr. Berg is a compassionate physician that delivers professionalism coupled with empathy in caring for patients. I was introduced to her during my first pregnancy in 2018. Her humility and passion for obstetrics allow for true relationship building. She took the time to truly understand me as an individual. You are not just another patient passing through the office. For this reason, I returned to her care for my final pregnancy. I knew that I could trust her with my life and my baby's especially with another c-section. From the caring staff at her practice to the staff at the hospital, I witnessed behavior of a well synced cross functional team that respects Dr. Berg and genuinely looks forward to having her work alongside them. There was so much positive energy! My daughter was born in March 2022 and the OR experience with Dr. Berg and the team at Memorial Miramar made her birth and my final pregnancy a truly unforgettable experience that I will cherish for the rest of my life. Thank you Dr. Berg and team (practice and hospital)!
I was recommended by a friend to Dr. Martin’s office. Dr. Berg was really nice. I had been trying to get pregnant for a couple of years unsuccessfully. She sent me a lot of blood work done at her office. Nobody from her staff ever told me my insurance wasn’t covering for any of it. The bill was over $2,500. But that’s not it. I found out I was pregnant while I was at the ER getting treated for appendicitis a week later. Imagine my surprise. After my surgery I called Dr. Berg’s office because I had a lot of questions, I wanted to see her. I was finally pregnant and nervous about my recovery. The front desk lady refused to book an appointment for me. She said I had to be 8 weeks pregnant. I explained my situation and told her I just wanted to talk. She said NO. I cried, I begged. I was just so scared of a miscarriage. Again, front lady was plain rude and said NO. I said if it was possible to transfer my clinical records from the hospital so at least Dr. Berg would know what happened to me, since I couldn’t make an appointment and I was on bed rest recovering. She said NO again. I had to do it personally and bring those records myself. I felt so humiliated, that was the last time I ever called that office. Then I got a ridiculous expensive bill on top of everything. My baby is fine, he’s a strong boy now. Not thanks to that office and staff. I went to Dr. Bridgewater, amazing OBGYN
Dr. Berg and the entire team are like family. They create an unforgettable experience in the delivery of professional service. The wait time is not excessive and Dr. Berg takes the time to connect with you not only as a patient but as an individual to make the birthing experience unique. This is coming from a woman that welcomed my son in 2018 and recently my daughter in 2022. Dr. Berg listens and makes sure you are comfortable in making every decision along the way. I couldn't have asked for more!
Let’s start with the positives, the office is clean, neat, and the doctor is nice. Now on to the negatives, if you don’t have a condition it seems like the best place to be. First of all, office secretaries, medical assistants, or RNs can’t diagnose. Only a doctor, NP or a physician assistant should diagnose. The moment you are diagnosed with something they refer you to your primary. Mmmm... that is not acceptable especially if you are the specialist. No education on how to manage my symptoms, or what I can do better. Kind of happy they stop taking my insurance. Force me to look for a better provider and place.
My mom and sister both see Dr. Martin. I decided to see Dr. Berg because I felt more comfortable with a woman at the time (I was 19). I went earlier in the year because I was in the hospital for severe menstrual pain to the point where I could barely walk because my legs were going numb. I was out of work for a week because the pain was so bad and for 3 months I called out of work at least once. They did an ultrasound and found a fibroid near my uterus. I made an appointment with Dr. Berg because I was extremely worried, and also for my annual. I got to my appointment on time but for some reason Dr. Berg was in a rush. I showed her my hospital records, advised her of my call outs and pain that I was experiencing, and she just said “everybody gets fibroids, you have nothing to worry about! I can prescribe you 800mg ibuprofen for your cramps”. No education regarding the fibroids, no recommendation besides a pill, and I mentioned she was rushing me so I didn’t have a chance to even ask the questions I wanted to until I walked out and remembered. I went back to her office to ask her about a reoccurring infection and all she could tell me is to use an unscented soap because “your body is just changing”. THANKFULLY, I work for a GI doctor who is also my PCP. I advised him of the infection and he was able to prescribe me a medication to remove the infection, because in fact that’s what it was. He ordered an ultrasound and not only was there a fibroid that grew from the time I went to the hospital, to the time I saw Dr. Berg (1 week) BUT something was abnormal in the endometrium as well. Now, to see another gyno, it’s costing me over $300 because the doctor I trusted, didn’t deliver. My situation was belittled to say the least.
I absolutely loved Dr. Berg's office! It was super clean when I got there and front desk was very attentive and sweet. They were very fast and very thorough! When I was taken back, the nurse was extremely sweet and made my nerves go down a bit! I was taken into the room to see Dr. Berg after 10 minutes of giving all my info! Dr. Berg is amazing in every way shape and form. She made me feel so comfortable all the way and answered all the questions i kept throwing at her! The best part was, she would do it with a smile on her face so it just made the experience extra pleasant. My husband and I are trying to get pregnant and I can't wait to start the journey with Dr. Berg once we get a baby baking in here! DEFINITELY recommend her and the staff!
