ASHLEY PALMER SO CALLED BUSINESS OFFICE MANAGER. SHE IS UNPROFESSIONAL. NEEDS TO LEARN HOW TO COMMUNICATE WITH FAMILY. I RECEIVED A GENERIC LETTER STATING AN AMOUNT DUE FOR SERVICES. NO ACCOUNT NUMBER, NO EXPLANATION OF SERVICES. SHE DID STATE 4,165 BALANCE. OCT 27, 2021 I arrived at 3050 Brown Ave, Mt Dora. ASHLEY CLAIMED SHE WAS IN A MEETING I NEEDED TO COME BACK. I INSISTED ON SPEAKING TO HER SUPERVISOR. NOT AVAILABLE, SPOKE WITH CHERYL ON ADMISSION OFFICE SHE TRIED BUT NO HELP. FINALLY TASIA EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR STATED WHY AT DISCHARGE WAS I NOT MADE AWARE OF THE BALANCE. I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND THIS CENTER TO ANYONE.

My mother had a stroke, was moved to this “rehabilitation center” on a Friday evening, that following Monday morning when we were allowed in to see her she was still in the same clothing. The following day she was changed but into someone else’s clothing. Zero physical therapy at all was done the week she was there so don’t believe the false advertisement on the webpage. When I brought a finger nail file in the clean the fecal matter under her fingernails because they had not bathed her, I was yelled at and told “the recreational department is in charge of that”. A basic human hygiene is something “recreational” to them. I witnessed two nurses almost become physical with each other in the main lobby of the building, and also witnessed a 100+ year old man almost fall out of bed and I was the only one who noticed. We removed my mother before they could kill her. If you love your family member, DO NOT PLACE THEM HERE!!

"Office" staff are neglectful and harsh. Hands-on caregivers work below minimum staffing requirements but do best they can. Recently, FEB 2021, Avante at MD has highest total rate of COVID-19 deaths in region.

Terrible facility. They’ve been “remodeling” for a decade now, and no new improvement. A ride in the parking lot will give you a glimpse of how it’s run. Holes all over. Upon entering the building you are immediately hit with a foul smell. Once you head down either hall, to the patient wings you notice two things. Many call lights on, and the staff all behind the desk. While visiting a friend there I did get to speak candidly with a nurse. I was told of the terrible understaffing on a regular basis. It’s so bad that the DON and ADON won’t even help make up shifts, and the nurse already working all day, now has to stay and work the night, or lose their job for abandoning patients. The rehab staff seems competent and attentive. I also want to point out how they, Avante, handled damage from after the hurricane. The air conditioning went out, and wasn’t replaced or working for two weeks. Florida in September averages 88 degree days. I ask anyone looking here to look at their state reports. The facility puts the staff, and it’s patients at significantly greater risk than necessary. If you need rehab or long term care in this area, check out the places in Eustis.

Can't get a straight answer from staff...molded my brothers clothes. They let him fall...has been there 2 weeks and now I will watch them very closely...he needs the therapy to get stronger but I am now leary of that...he has MS and is only 47 years old...he will not go there again.

They are so rude.. I just called them and the hung up in my face

THE EMPLOYEES HATE THEIR JOBS! DO NOT SEND YOUR FAMILY OR LOVED ONES HERE! UNLESS YOU WANT TO WATCH THEM GET WORSE! MY GRANDMA WAS THERE TO GAIN HER STRENGTH AFTER HAVING OPEN HEART SURGERY. THEY WOULDVE KILLED HER IF I DIDNT TAKE HER OUT! THIS PLACE SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN. AND ALL THE HATIANS THAT WORK AT NIGHT. DONT WORRY ONCE IM DONE WITH THAT PLACE YALL WILL NEVER BE ABLE TO "take care" of another human! Lord help us if u have kids, or even a pet! 🤬😡🤬😡🤬😡🤬😡

Worst living facility ever! Jail would be better then this place.
