Awful experience. Although multiple people recommended this doctor, the office is a complete mess. My husband spent more than a month waiting for a prescription, that never arrived. We tried multiple ways to call and even go in person to the office to try and get this prescription. The follow up appointment came and he could never have the treatment he originally prescribed, so we decided not to even bother with the follow up appointment.Would not recommend, and found another doctor who is able to properly take care of patients.
Dr Jay in my opinion is Friendly, a Subject Matter Expert with a Professional approach to my care. I know that when I visit the Naples AUI office the entire staff has my interest in mind. On a scale of 1 to 10 this team is Borderline 11.
I highly recommend Dr Rivera. I had a bladder sling procedure back in 2009 by a different urologist. In 2021 the sling was protruding into my vaginal lining. The original doctor said “oh well. Here’s some estrogen crème to use to thicken your lining.” I tried his suggestion for over a year with no success. I lost hope of ever feeling better. I was referred to Dr Rivera. He told me that he could help me and I was so happy. He performed a procedure and cut the piece of the sling the was exposed out. I am feeling better and back to normal!! I can’t thank you enough Dr Rivera!!! You’re awesome!!!!
I won’t recommend this group !I’ve seen 2 different dr that didn’t care to hear my story, my issues and concernem and jump into their ego to say they know better.
AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS!!! My husband had his vasectomy done here with Dr. Jay. The surgery went great and Dr. Jay is great. The office staff, however, absolutely terrible! My husband scheduled a telehealth appointment in May to find out the results from his sample analysis. Office staff called and said Dr. Jay doesn’t do telehealth appointments anymore and rescheduled him for an in-office appointment in June. My husband goes to the appointment just to be told they don’t know why he’s here and don’t have his results. They rescheduled him for another telehealth appointment in July and he receives a text with no URL link, so he calls the office just to be told to wait and “hopefully a link will be sent”. The office staff always sounds like they have no clue what they’re doing. They say they’ll send a message to the nurses and mark it as “high priority” and still nothing gets done.
I will make this short. 7 Visits at advanced urology with a catheter in me for 3 months. The doctor made a few suggestions. No plan and No results. 1 Visit at GENESIS UROLOGY in Fort Myers and I have a new life. Plan was Implemented and the surgery date was set at the first visit, had HOLEP procedure for my prostate and I am finally cured. WOW !

I saw Dr. Jay once & he was very kind & explained my issues thoroughly.The thing I hate the most is scheduling an appointment for a cystoscopy. They tell me when he is available. I prefer to schedule an appointment at the time that works best for me. Not at 4PMThey were supposed to call with an available date at my preferred time. 2 days and no call.Plus, the nurse who prepped me for a procedure was very rough. Enough to cause irritation.Not sure if I will go back.
If I could leave zero stars I would. I have been trying to get a refill on my prescription since 1/23. My pharmacy sent numerous requests and I called numerous times. My pharmacy had given me 3 pills last Friday to get me through the weekend in anticipation of getting the refill on Monday 1/30. Which was the last pill I’ve had. I’ve called everyday this week. Was even told yesterday that the prescription was sent on 2/1 at 2 pm. My pharmacy has no record of it. I called back to let them know yesterday that it was not received and still have not heard back. I spoke with many different associates that relay the message to the physicians team. Asked many times how I could escalate this and was told all they could do is keep sending urgent requests and told me my only other option was to drive to the office (which is about 40 minutes from me). How is that the only options at this point? Completely ridiculous that I could not be put in contact with an office manager. I also talked to I believe Brandon that take appointments. Told me he was going to look into it and have not heard back from him either. He’s very condescending. The level of service is terrible and I will be searching for another urologist which I have been with Dr Rivera for over a dozen years. Prior to him being at Advanced. Hopefully you can turn things around but looking at the reviews online it doesn’t seem to be much of a priority. Guess I’m not surprised with the lack of service I’ve been provided.
The specialist does not spend a reasonable time talking to patients. Super fast visit. The office or nurse will never call you back to explain results. It is all about money. When you call to schedule an appointment, you must have a good reason in order to get an appointment. In other words, you have to explain exactly why you have pain or discomfort (if you do not know, then you will not get any appointment). Usually people go to the doctors to have answers. The staff in the scheduling department expects you to know the reason of your discomfort or sickness situation you may have. You should be a doctor before visiting the specialist. So intense when scheduling an appointment. Be prepare to see the specialist for less than 2 minutes.
