Bascom Palmer Eye Institute At Naples's Online Review Report Card

Waiting an hour to have a visual field test when there have been practically no patients in the waiting room since I arrived at 1:15. My doctor taking leave and noone advising me of this via phone so that I can decide next steps. Apparently I was notified in the portal. How odd for a practice that is supposed to provide world class eyecare that staff can’t pick up the phone and notify a patient (who has a complicated case of glaucoma ) that their doctor is on leave. Perhaps the patient should have a say in whether they want to find another doctor. Or at least be told what will happen while their doctor is on leave.

I love my dr , I give him 5* but the scheduling appointments is 4 -5 months in advance and if you need the dr bse of infection you have to go to an emergency room you can’t get an appointment to see your own dr , but the worse is waiting for minimum 3-4 hours. First you see the nurse after 1.5- 2 hours she examines you put the drops and dr sees you after another 1.5-2 hours , the drops probably don’t work after so long….. it’s a shame

The doctors may be fine, not that I could find out. I made multiple calls to this organization to make an appointment for an urgent retina issue for which I needed to see a retina specialist on a weekly basis. Unfortunately nobody answered the doctors office and most of my calls were not returned. I initially spoke with their central scheduling office who had me fax my medical records. After a few more calls I finally spoke with someone who told me to fax them to the doctors office directly. However they gave me an incorrect fax number. A few calls later I got the correct number and faxed the records. I followed up with a few more calls that were not answered for a few days. I finally spoke with someone from Dr Davis office who told me my “urgent” appointment could be accommodated in 6 weeks!!!. However I needed to speak with the central office in regards to my insurance. After weeks of calls and conversations someone finally told me that they weren’t even contracted with my insurance company so I have wasted weeks of my time to get no where. My advice would be to try somewhere else.

Don't waste your time. I was referred to Bascom Palmer by my home ophthalmologist for a vitreous detachment. Spent 15min on the phone with "reception" where they wanted ALL my personal and healthcare info only to be told the first available appt was 8 weeks out. Why didn't they lead with this information?

I need an ICL replaced. Via the website I requested an appointment from the lasik dept because that was the closest option. I waited 2 days to get a callback only to be told, it wasn't Lasik dept and given another number. I called that number and spent 15 minutes on the phone with a very polite and earnest young man who had no idea what I was talking about. He said he asked his colleagues for guidance and they suggested I contact the Contact Lense dept. I called them and they didn't even know what an ICL was. I am literally trying to give this company $4000+ dollars and I can't even reach someone who knows what I am talking about. You only get two eyes, and there are no do overs. I am not comfortable letting them operate on my eyes if after 30 mins and 3 different people no one knows what I am talking about. Maybe they don't do ICLs but yikes. The icing on the cake is that, seeing the response to other reviews, I actually called the Patient Experience number before posting this review. They couldn’t help me either.

Always a positive experience, yes you wait at appointments but you are told this. Plan accordingly ! The doctors, nurses and technicians are top notch. 7 eye surgeries, 5 at Bascom Palmer and I will never trust my eyes to anywhere else. I am so blessed to be near the number 1 eye hospital in the United States, years running.

They are lots of recommendations here but not all are legitimate, I will say it's the grace of God I was able to come across Mrs barbara derek . My life changed for good I only invested $1000 to her platform just after six days I was overwhelmed with Joy I earned profit of $11500. I really wish these reviews had categories that are then averaged because Bascom deserves a 5 for thorough patient care and a 1 for patient scheduling. So I will average myself down to a 3. This Naples location tries to pack in so many appointments that you will always wait an hour or 2 just to see the doctor and if you try to mention it you could get sympathy but no change or you could get worse like at my last appointment I heard them tell a lady to leave if she didn’t like it. They don’t have to schedule in such a way that every appointment takes hours but as long as we continue to not speak up they will never try to do better.
