Catherine Kowal's Online Review Report Card

Wow! I've had RA for almost 40 yrs. I was thinking of switching my rheumy to Dr. Kowal, but reading all the reviews about the way new patients are put on a very very long waiting list and not being called back, I think I'll stay where I am. I was hoping to find a rheumy in Naples because it's closer to home as opposed to driving to Fort Myers. Looks like I'll keep on truckin' to Ft Myers. This is awful, especially with people having serious auto immune illnesses. SMH. Maybe this doctor should not be taking on new patients until she can manage more patients.

Horrible experience. Got abnormal blood work and was told by my primary I need to see a rheumatologist. I called and called this office many times with no one answering. Finally I got through to someone who told me I need to fax over the referral. Fine, no problem. I fax the referral over. I call the next day and all of a sudden, they’ve changed their phone menu options so now you can’t even get through to a live person if you’re a new patient. You have to leave a voicemail which I I left 5, and no one ever called me back. I’m a healthcare provider who returns all voicemails left by my patients. Not returning calls is unacceptable. Do not consider this office because you likely won’t even get a hold of them. Can’t speak on the quality of the doctors because I never even got a chance to meet with one. It’s not even in season here so I’m really puzzled as to why they aren’t returning calls which points only to incompetence and poor office management.

There is a reason that I drive over an hour to see her, she simply is the best! Have been a patient for over 15 years and would not go anywhere else

Dr. Zhaz is very caring and took time asking questions regarding my health and discussed how we will proceed going forward. However, when calling the office, the calls go to voice mail and no return call is received. This is distressing when you need to get medication

The doctors are great but the front office lack knowledge and the phone go to voice mail and they won't call back

I have been going to Dr. Kowal for over 15 years with my issue, She listens with great patience . She goes over everything each time . I recommend her with great confidence . She is always up on the next medical tool & willing to get the product in anyway she can for me.

Would give zero stars if possible. We got put on wait list over a year ago at this office for my daughter. We were told 6 month wait. Fine. At 6 months called to check on progress, still not available. At 9 months tried calling, they don’t answer the phones, they don’t return calls. It’s been over a year now they still do not answer the phone EVER and do not return messages left on voicemail. Absolutely disgusting way to run a practice for someone in the medical field in a specialty area, this shows a complete lack of empathy for a vulnerable population.

Dr. Kowal and her Staff are caring, compassionate people. I would highly recommend her to anyone, without hesitation, who is suffering with Arthritis issues. She takes her time and explains in detail. I live in SW Cape Coral and although it’s a trip for me I feel she is worth the drive.

I have been a patient of Dr. Kowals for several years. She agreed to take my case when other Rheumatologists in the area would not. She is very attentive and thoughtful. She listens and helps you to understand your disease. I live in Cape Coral and drive over an hour to see her, but thee is no one else in this area I would see.

I have been working with Doctor Kowal for over 25 years. She and her staff are five star. She keeps up on new technology and techniques related to RA for me. Highly recommend her.
