List of David Lawrence Centers For Behavioral Health's Reviews
I would not recommend this place to anyone.
I made an appointment for my son this morning. The appointment was made 3 months in advance. When we showed up we were told the appointment had been cancelled and rescheduled. Not only were we not notified of the cancellation, but someone actually made a new appointment without even asking if we were available for that time. This place is consistently unprofessional in every way imaginable. Furthermore, don’t bother leaving messages, they’ll never call you back. Total scam.
I had another visit with the Doctor at David Lawrence and this visit was good in my opinion .I told her the truth and she was upfront and truthful with me .At the end of the visit I had a lot better view of the Doctor .I know that I take a medication that is not good to take with another medication I take .I have been doing the best that I can do at coming off of the med. I am now down to 1.5 instead of 3 tablets a day .It is taking me longer than the Doctor had hoped it would take .I will be completely off of it within 2 or 3 months .Plus I will have cut another Medication from 300mg to 150mg in this time frame .After my last visit I hope and think the Doctor will work with me to get off of the 1 completely plus cut the 2nd 1 in half .I have come off of 1 completely and I will work as hard as I can to come off the medications the Doctor wants .Coming off of mind altering drugs is really hard .When I seen my 1st Psych he had me on 11 Medications I had to go into the Hospital but I came off of them .He had me on several really heavy duty Medications .I am hoping to develop a very good Doctor Patient relationship .
I am seeing a Psych Doctor there I am almost 76 years old what she is doing could cause my DEATH .She took me off of 10 mg of Abilify i had been taking for 12 years COLD TURKEY .( LOOK UP SIDE EFFECTS OF STOPPING ABILIFY AFTER TAKING IT DAILY FOR 12 YEARS ) Then she prescribed QUETIAPINE FURARATE 200mg i fell the first night i took it and busted just above my right eye. I told her that and she is still prescribing that medication .Then she started taking me off of 3 ..5mg daily Colnazepam and did not tell me she was cutting me down .Now she wants me to take 1 Clonazepam a day .I was taking 300mg of EffexorER daily that has been cut back to 225 mg .None of the medications were replaced with anything i could take .I seen 3 other people before seeing this one .One Psych MD and Two PAs none of the 3 changed my Meds .I went to the same Psych MD for 23 years and she is the one who started me on the Medications she retired and that is when i started going to David Lawrence .When i started seeing the psych MD another Psych MD in Naples had me on 11 different medications .She had to put me in Charter Glade Hospital to get me off of all 11 medications .This Psych MD slowly took me off of all 11 medications i was on .I was in patient at the hospital for 2 weeks and out patient for over 6 months .She was a great Doctor and my psycholigist 29 years who was voted the best in Florida said Doctor Keefer was the best he had ever seen . Now i only sleep 3 or 4 hours a night before i was sleeping 7 or 8 hours a night .Removing the medications have caused me to have severe muscle stiffness , loss of consciousness , itching ,swelling around eyes ,tightness in chest ,faster heart rate ,anxiety ,blurred vision ,hyperventilation ,congestion ,coughing ,joint pain ,swollen joints ,aggression ,accidental injury ,too many things to list .I have been on Psych Mind Altering meds for 29 years ,I know that you cannot live with making that many med changes .These changes set me up for a Heart Attack or Stroke .

Good
I tried to call ithis place I can't get a response because somebody please call me back
This is an agency so they treat you like a number. In the 2 years I have been coming here they lost 2 doctors. It seems they can't keep good staff. Now suddenly after years of taking my medications they decide that I need to stop taking one, so the Brand NEW Dr. who has spend only 5 minutes with me tells me he is cutting me off and that I need to just cope with my anxiety. He was rude, and even accused me of abusing my meds. When I became reactive and began crying and having a panic attack he Threatened me with baker acting me. Instead of handing me ANY information that I could read to understand why he was making such a drastic change.. He verbally repeated himself over my sobs. I could not process what he was saying because I was so distraught.. and so he says that I am already suffering from short term memory loss because of my medication. THEN he begins to offer a NEW medication that I should consider?! .. Sounds like the new big pharma just romanced the agency and they are phasing out something so they can push new drugs.. Which by they way will make me the test dummy. I am so freaked out by this. Everything was going well with my current meds.. I have little to no side effects with this particular med.. so why mess with it? I left the office feeling defeated and abused. My boyfriend who was in the waiting room could hear me during my visit.. and just as we were leaving there was a cop car and and an abulance pulling into the lot.. I believe if I did not pull myself together I would have been baker acted. People if you can find another place .. DO IT. Avoid this place. They are totally in it for the money and do not care about you at all. I am reporting this doctor to the board and the state.
UNPROFESSIONAL AND UNDERQUAILIFIEDI would never EVER recommend this place of buisness and apparantly either would other therapy facilities as that is what I was told by a few places when i immediately sought out a better place. An employee underminded my authority infront of my child, during our 1st session Sue White brought in her next patient while my son and I was still in the room, she turned the lights off on him and left without giving him a chance to put his shoes on.No one ever asked about his history so how can they give a proper treatment plan without knowing all the facts? I called the superviser and never received a call back!HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLEGo to Elite DNA, they are much better or Conscious choices.
This place is unbelievable. I have been dealing with David lawrence for 5 years since I was 13. I still haven't been correctly diagnosed, have been given every FDA approved SSRI, 2 SNRIs, and an antipsychotic. Two days ago I went to see a ARNP and she gave me 150 MG of an SNRI. I have been having convulsions for two days, haven't eaten, and had a hallucination. I've only taken this pill once and I'm still having side effects two days after. The only reason I'm still with DLC is because they take my insurance. Please do your research and do not go here unless absolutely needed in terms of crisis.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
