List of Joanna Chon's Reviews
Office was incapable of scheduling ultrasound the way it was supposed to be done. Staff was impossible to get ahold of. No hold option on phone to talk to anyone just option to leave a message which isn't a good option if you are in pain.
Office staff is rude and unwilling to assist with insurance issues. Multiple billing statements have been sent to the wrong address over a 5 month period despite having moved and providing new address.
Very professional office and staff. Takes the time to answer questions and provides the level of care I need.
I am retirement age and have prostate and kidney stone issues…I am very pleased with the care and support from Dr Chon and her wonderful staff…always thorough and professional… I recommend highly…
I was very disappointed in the care I received from Dr. Chon. My condition was not diagnosed.
Dr. Chon is a good Doctor. Her office is run very poorly. They couldn’t get my script to the correct pharmacy, nor the correct dosage. It happened several times. The wait is ridiculous. On my last visit, I was asked to leave because I may have been 2 minutes late, and there was no place to even sit down. They told another lady she had to leave as well, also told her if she didn’t like it she could go elsewhere! They way overbook patients. Very chaotic to say the least.
Unfortunately the bathroom I was supposed to use to provide a sample was covered in feces, even the floor. Obviously this was caused by an earlier patient, and the office personnel were kind and helpful and just as shocked as I was. But when Dr Chon came to exam me she only offered a terse apology that was far outweighed by her own non culpability. While giving me a pelvic exam she challenged me to tell her why I am hesitant to have surgery and said, “Why are you even here?” I went to find out facts and information in order to make a decision about my own healthcare. I ended up feeling assaulted.
I have suffered with two health issues that women do not talk about, even in confidence-stress incontinence and lichen sclerosus (a severe, post-menopausal thinning of the skin of the vulva). For me the lichen sclerosus was debilitating. The skin around the entrance to my vaginal was so thin, I could not use soap on my privates and had to rinse after urination because everything burned. Steroids worsened the situation. Estrogen cream gave some but not sufficient relief. Some days the pain was so bad I could not walk. How do you call out sick because your vaginal hurts? I could not wear even the thinnest of Poise pads for the stress incontinence because the pads chaffed the skin of my already super sensitive vulva. So I resorted to changing my cotton underwear, washed in laundry detergent without dyes or fragrances and double-rinsed, four times a day. Sexual intercourse with my husband was not possible. K-Y jelly and his sperm burned my vagina so badly, I would be sit in a cold water bath crying afterward. Dr. Chon literally changed my life with Morpheus8 lazer treatments. After the first treatment, my stress incontinence was gone-even when I sneezed, coughed hard or did jumping jacks. After three treatments, the skin of my vulva was healthy enough to resume sexual activity. Thank you, Dr. Chon. It is a shame that we women suffer with these medical conditions in silence when there is help. I know the treatment is not permanent and I may have to go back for touch ups to keep the skin of my vulva healthy, but I am exceedingly grateful to Dr. Chon for giving me back my marriage and my youth.
Dr Chon is a wonderful person and surgeon. I highly recommend her. She is one of my Favorite Doctors.
Dr. Chon is pleasant with an economy of words and seemingly a tad vigilant in not spending more time than absolutely essential in discussing patient issues. Her office is slow to reply to messages and seem dismissive of requests for UTI treatment-meds, (as in "go to a doc in a box"). That much said, care for diagnosed issues is good and reaching diagnosis happens efficiently.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
