Maria Santiago's Online Review Report Card

After reading these reviews, i realize that her bedside manner has left me wondering about her efficacy as a medical provider. I have no reason to believe she provided me the proper treatment...results tbd

Had injection appt. When arrived was told thatvsincevi am seeking another neurologist due to Dr mercer being difficult to deal with. They refused to serve me. I drove 1 hour to get to the appt and dr Santiago didn't care nor did she care that I didnt receive a call theday before indicating the appt was canceled so I didn't have to drive that far

I would never recommend Dr. Santiago to anyone. She is cold, aloof, and has absolutely no “bedside manner”. She obviously is a dr who treats a condition, but not the human who is experiencing the condition. She is not interested in truly knowing her patient, and is very dismissive to family that attend the patient’s appointment. I flew in from TX to accompany my aunt for a visit, and this dr did not want to hear my concerns about changes our family has noticed. Bottom line : if you love your family member who has been diagnosed with dementia, do NOT take them to this dr.

Dr Santiago has been treating my migraines for years. She and her PA have been so helpful and responsive to any questions or issues that have come up over the years. They both work hard to help me get the migraines under control.

I was very pleased with Dr Santiago. She spent alot of time with me and was very thorough. I felt she had a caring bedside manner and was extremely knowledgeable in her diagnosis.

I saw Dr Santiago this week. She was very thorough and has the best bed side manner. Couldn't ask for a better doctor!

Impossible to get in touch with her and does not respond to multiple messages. I’d give her no stars if it was possible. I’m not sure why she practices medicine, she is clearly not interested.

I think Dr. Maria Santiago is an excellent neurologist. She is very knowledgeable and thorough. The only problem is that she has a rather cold demeanor.

Yesterday I went to see Miss Santiago regarding the stroke I had 3 months ago and I can say that she is a great doctor who listened to me and my concerns. She also explained to me what she couldn't , not because of her but because my insurance will not covered me and how expensive it was for me personally . She can do certain things but only if I was able to buy them myself and then bring them with me. I read the comments that some people wrote and don't agree totally with them , she is a great doctor and I repeat it again . I didn't go looking for a friend or someone to smiled to me or run her arm on my shoulder , I went looking for a professional and I found it on her . One thing that I should have wanted , is that when she went to write my prescription was to come back and asked me if I had any other questions ( which I did ) and don't send her assistant with the paperwork and then send me on my way. I know that not everybody is a people person and I understand that , and like I wrote before , I went looking for a great doctor and I found it on her . I can referred her to anyone.

Update 2/1/2019 - While still trying to get my diagnosis resolved, I found out that when I initially went for my visit to the Dr for narcolepsy, I just found out there are tests for it that the Dr should have performed but didn't. I am seeking a neurologist with that specialty and avoid Dr. Santiago who is a waste of time and money! My interests are to get to heart of the matter and not be a co-dependent of a practice that does absolutely nothing! While I found the Dr visit to be ok, there is little follow up especially on test results and critical related to my health. Just rated them 1 star lower! I went to Dr on my first appt, and she recommended a sleep study. After it was done I waited weeks fro the Dr to contact me for a follow up and they lied stating they just got it that day I called weeks later. I asked to be diagnosed by the Sleep Study Pulmonologist because my schedule is demanding and they could do it all in one visit but was denied by the Dr.'s assistant, who said the Dr. would do it. Oh the Dr. didn't do it, but she just told me to go to the Pulmonologist and took my money. I am having Output blackouts while doing activities. This office has no ethics, they'll smile at you while in person and take your $$$ but not answer their phones or do their jobs to get the necessary attention. needed. When this type of conduct is performed it is definite gross injustice in their character and malpractice treatment of patients, time to report them to the board and insurance company.
