List of MIchael Kilchenstein's Reviews
I started seeing Dr. Kilchenstein almost 3 years ago. I think he is very intelligent & up to date with everything I needed. He was Patient & had a Large amount of Empathy for my Issues. I would recommend him to my own Loved Ones. I was surprised to see any Negative Remarks.
How do you rate a a doctor that has saved your life and has given you the ability to live a life of quality. There’s simply not a scale of that magnitude. Dr. Kilchenstien isn’t simply a Psychitrist. He also implements therapy into his practice as well as keeping up with advances in medicine to updated scientific discoveries. In psychology he constantly keeps up on advances and findings. Implements the combinations of psychology, therapy and pharmacology. He utilizes it to study his patients with a series of questions and curiosity by not only listening to your words but also observing your body language and the way your mind sequentially creates your sentences through your thought process an emotions. He’s a very rare gem. I would never trade him for anything in the world. Very puntual, highly intelligent, always informed about the latest advances in medicine and most importantly pharmaceutical interactions. This doctor is one of that last of a dying breed in his field,. His work ethic, compassion, and character unmatched; considering I myself have had my fair share around a quantity of doctors in all areas in my studies and work. I will not be able to ever repay him in any form what he has done for me. Doctor/Psychitrist/Therapist is an understatement! He continues to teach himself of todays studies and his age is nothing but a number Dr. Kilchenstien will put any young graduate under the table with his open minded strategies and expertise in his field. Dr. Kilchenstien will forever remain sharp. If your looking for the real meaning of a Doctor he is your man!
Excellent psychiatrist with a strong knowledge of BP-I and BP-II, as well as BPD, and chronic depression. I saw him for three years when I was younger. He specializes in psychoanalysis rather than any skills-coping training, so if that's what you're looking for--he's certainly the best choice. His knowledge of psychoanalysis really helped me understand the "why" of my issues, and coupled with another provider's therapy skills training years later, I'm much better off from before seeing him. His appointments are very laid back and are open times for you to talk, even if that means sitting in silence for a half hour. He really enjoys the movie "Clueless", so bring it up sometime if you don't know what else to talk about.
THE BEST! He is so caring and easy to talk to about my problems. I have never found another physiatrist that compares to him. If you are looking for a doctor who listens and cares about knowing you and your problems, look no further.
He was a no show on 2nd appt - two combined visits totaling 1 hr & then 25 min was $500 cash for him to tell me I ask too many questions, “Go look it up on Google”, didn’t remember what we talked about in first visit .... unprofessional, old, rude and would not recommend him to anyone ..... should have retired a long time ago!!!!
Don’t waste your time or money .... told me I asked too many questions trying to understand my loved ones condition and told me “to go look it up on Google” ... rude, old & grumpy - $500 cash (2 visit) mistake!!!!
Dr. Kilchenstein is an exceptionally skilled psychiatrist. His empathy has made him one of the most important people in my life for over 6 years. He is a lifeline. His work with me has taught me how to manage my life which, because of my bipolar disorder, is very often nearly impossible to do. This management has been accomplished through his wise and pensive listening, serving as both analyst and counselor. He diagnoses and treats mental disorders by ascertaining and analyzing the facts of his patient’s mental life. Dr. “K” chooses to serve as therapist and analyst as well as to prescribe appropriate medications when indicated. His brilliant pharmacological brain full of knowledge is key as the wrong medication can worsen a situation. It is his profound empathy has endeared Dr. Kilchenstein to me. I could not be functioning as I am without his help for over 6 years. I only wish I would’ve found him earlier in my struggle of 50 years.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
