List of MIchael Slater's Reviews
This doctor is great. He is very patient and sympathetic. He actually listens to your issues and tries to come up solutions to the problems.
So as a general practice I avoid going to the doctor unless basically forced. I don't enjoy the condescending tone that pretty much comes with every visit. Dr. Slater was the exception to my typical doctor visits. He is warm, funny and compassionate. While he is joking with you, he's also getting your medical information. He wasn't pushy or patronizing and somehow I walked out wondering if I was sleeping or if I really just saw a doctor. He did give me a script for blood work and the office later followed up with results so I knew he was the real thing. I won't avoid him like I do all the others.
Dr. Slater is a great doctor. He is friendly and a bit snarky in a funny way (when you get to know him) so he never fails to make your visit interesting. He is a doctor who REALLY cares about his patients and is practicing with his heart and not his bank account in mind. He also speaks 7 different languages so he is great for refuges and immigrants who may not speak fluent English. He is a compassionate and caring doctor, which can be pretty hard to find these days and will not hesitate to refer you to a specialist if he thinks it could help. He referred me to a specialist and for an x ray when my primary doctor refused to do so or even entertain my issue. The office is clean and masks are required upon entry.
Without exaggeration Dr. Slater is the best doctor I've ever had. Finding a thorough caring doctor is extremely important and yet so difficult. I consider myself very lucky that I was able to succeed in my search. Dr. Slater has been my husband's and my primary physician for 2 years now and there is nothing that I'd change. Whenever we had an issue, Dr. Slater would find time and do his best to resolve it or refer us to a specialist. In fact, his referral to a good dermatologist made all the difference: 3 doctors before failed to diagnose our son with what turned out to be a Lime disease! Timely diagnosis is crucial for that disease. We are so grateful that we came to Dr. Slater for help. As a bonus his positive attitude and sense of humor make my day whenever I visit. The staff in the office is very helpful, welcoming and kind.
I don't understand why this man has any positive reviews or why anyone would ever refer someone to his practice, but if you are in need of important diagnoses or care, find a doctor elsewhere. I'd been waiting for my appointment for 2 months to be evaluated for an important disability claim. Supposedly they tried to reach me the day prior (via the wrong phone number) to tell me to come 10 minutes early, but couldn't get through. The incredibly rude and unproffessional staff at the front desk then proceeded to not only argue with me about the call I had never received, but I was then told that I wouldn't be seen because I wasnt 10 minutes early. Disgusting and unprofessional behavior that I cannot believe from a supposed healthcare professional.
Dr. Slater is always kind and punctual. His staff is extremely friendly, always making you feel welcome. I am excited that he has now opened his own practice. I refer all of my friends here when they inform me that they are looking for a new Primary Care Doctor. I trust Dr. Slater with all of my health problems and concerns. He even goes above and beyond to help me when my specialist can't. Now what other doctors do that? I can't think of one. Dr. Slater is hands down the best Primary Care Doctor you will find.
I have lived in 4 different countries over the last 40 yrs and have had many health care professionals in that time. Dr Slater is by far my favorite - he truly does care about his patients. He is attentive, professional, and above all COMPASSIONATE. If you are looking for a new doctor and want someone who knows his craft and is a human being who puts his patients FIRST please trust this recommendation and sign on with him. His team in the office is superb! I trust him with my life and am so grateful to have found him and his team.
Dr. Slater was extremely kind and patient. He provided me with exceptional care and I am feeling immense relief from a very painful allergic reaction.
I picked Dr Slater as my new PCP because he had the most and best reviews on my insurance app. Plus he is a D.O. which means he is patient-focused and open to alternative methods of medicine. This review is based solely on my first and only visit so far. First, there is ample parking adjacent to the building. The office doesn't have a large waiting room but it's very clean and appealing to the eye. There is a restroom right in the waiting room, very convenient. Check-in was quick and shortly after I was called to have my vitals taken, then led to the exam room. This is where I had time to complete the medical questionnaire I was first given at check-in. From another room, I could hear laughter which I assumed was the doctor and a patient. That put me at ease. Dr Slater was very personable, a good listener, professional but easy to talk to. When I asked for a referral to a certain kind of specialist, he gave me a name but said if that doctor is not participating in my insurance plan, to give him a list of names after calling my insurance, and he would recommend one of them. His office staff and medical assistant are all very nice, including the gal who called the day before to remind me of my appointment. I am thankful to have Dr Slater as my primary doctor and recommend him.
Called this clinic to inquire about whether they are accepting new patients. Spoke with a woman who advised that they are. Then she proceeded to ask me about my health insurance. She then put me on hold to confirm whether they accept it. They did! And she advised me to add Michael Slater DO as primary care doctor then call them back to schedule a new patient appointment. So I went online and added him. Then called them back and spoke with Andy who advised they are not accepting patients. Then he put me on hold for a while and said the first person I spoke to was wrong. He was not sympathetic or did not apologize to me for being given wrong information after doing all this foot work. Definitely if you are new to this practice take names of everyone you contact and make sure to verify the information you are given is correct.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
