Great doc And staff
Had an exam with this doctor snd she was very brusque and had no time to answer questions following my cataract surgery. In it for the money, honey?
not great, three years later after botching simple cataract surgery, my eyes are worse than before I had the operation. Extreme floaters, convinced me to get wrong contact lenses so I dont see well either close or far away. I wish I had done some research prior to selecting her at random as a new resident.
In and out, what bothered me the most was the inaccuracy of her documentation , we did not discuss two areas of concern that she said we did, I requested her notes which I received after a few days later , thank you to her staff for providing in a timely manner
Terrible experience in and out , I did receive a copy of the notes she documented, very inaccurate we did not discuss two items that she said we did both being of importance, either retire or work full time
20 year patient of Dr. Groom, last week was a nightmare, in such a rush, I requested and received follow up notes, very inaccurate we never discussed the topics she said we did , very disappointed, why would you only see patients twice a month ?
Had routine cataract surgery by Dr Groom. No distance vision after procedure even though I asked for lens that would give me distant vision, not up close. I can read fine with this eye but cannot see distance. Cannot play sports, such as tennis because of disparity between two eyes. Very disappointed. Both in the results of the surgery and in Dr Groom's follow-up
I needed cataract surgery and was given brochures on multi-focal lenses at a significant cost, but could eliminate the need for glasses, vs. the traditional single vision lenses. There was little information provided by Dr. Groom. I read on-line, unfortunately I didn't thoroughly check out the peer-reviewed articles. I chose and paid for the multi-focals. My advice, avoid them at all cost which is plenty. Can no longer read street signs and night driving is a nightmare.
HORRIBLE! DOES NOT EXPLAIN ANYTHING AND SPENDS 2 MINUTES WITH YOU. DOES NOT EVEN LOOK AT YOU IN THE EYES WHEN SPEAKING TO YOU. GAVE HER A FEW CHANCES BUT THE SAME EVERY YEAR, WORSENS. DO NOT RECCOMEND!!!
After cataract surgery I went 100% blind. I called at 4 pm and explained I could not see anything. They were very unconcerned and told me to come in the following day. Obviously not an emergency to them! When I went, the assistant told me to cover my good eye and read the chart. I guess she didn't understand BLIND! I was referred to a retinologist. After months of treatment, they found DEBRIS left in my eye from the cataract surgery. It required additional surgery to correct. During it all Dr. Groom called once. Although I was seeing the retinologist DAILY she thought I should come let her check it out. No concern for me!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
