She has monitored my mitral valve regurgitation for 6 years. This year she noticed a significant change and recommended a surgical referral to consider repair. She is knowledgeable and thorough in her assessment. Very professional, but also very personable. I would highly recommend Dr. Velamakanni and the staff at NCH Heart Institute. Excellent care resulting in a quick, full recovery.

I truly believe I am alive because of Dr. Velamakanni. I have been battling heart disease since I was a child and have been a patient of Dr. V for about 10 years. She has always been there for me and stays on top of any new symptoms I may have. She listens always. I feel great thanks to her caring treatment and referrals to the best doctors in the NCH Heart Group for individual treatment necessary at the time. Her nurse, Angie, is amazing and always keeps abreast of my condition. I wouldn’t trade them for the world.

Dr. Velamakanni is a thorough and professional cardiologists who understands all aspects of a patient’s life and health as part of her role in treating cardiac related conditions. Dr. Velamakanni listens carefully to patient concerns and descriptions of their condition in addition to reports about their daily activities as a way to gain insight into lifestyle issues which need to be addressed by the patient. her insight into the wide range of conditions that can affect patient health are used and formulating her recommendations and treatment plan. Dr. V is a careful and compassionate listener who is very patient focused in her approach to cardiology.

Dr. Velamakanni has been my Dr. For 14 years, she is wonderful!!! Has been constantly in touch with my other Dr’s, with how to treat me. Always on top of everything with my A-Fib.. couldn’t ask for a better Dr.

Dr V had been treating me for over two years. I am troubled when I read reviews that say she is hard and doesn't listen. I believe those who think that are misunderstanding her or don't want to hear what she is saying. She is well qualified and CARES about her patients and appears to practice her own advice. I have lost nearly 16 lbs and have changed the way I eat, drink and exercise because she didn't capitulate to my self serving excuses. She told me what I needed to hear. Her staff is responsive every time I send a message via the portal, which by the way, Dr V encourages me to do. Dr V always makes sure that she has answered every question before she leaves the room. Many of us wouldn't be seeing her or any cardiologist if our previous Dr's put the pressure on us to follow the advice she gives. If you are looking for a massage go to a masseuse. If you have heart problems Dr V is the best. I have recommended her to friends and will continue to do so.
