List of Todd Rice's Reviews
First visit with Dr. Rice yesterday for UTI infection, check on implant and wellness questions. Amazingly relaxed, attentive, knowledgeable and personable. I felt rare instant rapport and intuitive trust in his judgment. Dr. Rice reminded me of TV’s Doc Martin - only nice, caring and not scared of blood. He made me feel a lot better and I left with a big surprised smile. I will look for him the next time I have an issue. I recommend him highly.
Slow giving a review but Dr Rice, in the ER, sutured 2 sliced arteries in my foot and stabilized the foot for surgery the next day. Obviously there was a lot of blood loss, my blood pressure dropped considerably and I was close to passing out. It was a very scary situation for me and he handled it perfectly.
Dr. Rice was rude, misinformed and made no effort to help. Went to the ER in unrelenting pain and he clearly thought I was looking for narcotics. My chart shows I'm allergic because I can't tolerate most opiates. Pinched nerve in my neck, said I needed an MRI, but wouldn't get one - ? Very brief exam, no suggestions of what to do, contradicted information on the sheet I was given when discharge. Gave me a prescription for cough medicine! No help for the pain. I can't believe NCH keeps him on staff as his reviews are uniformly awful. Of course I had no choice and will get a huge bill for no help at all.
Dr Rice saw me in the ER. I have a history of coronary disease and just started a new medicine the day before. I was rushed to the ER with all kinds of bad things happening. I told the dr that I take my BP regularly and am especially watching it with this new medicine. The dr suggested I stop taking my BP. I am not kidding. That's it. No compassion. I think the nurse that came in after he left solved my problem.
My Mom went into Emergency at NCH with back and abdominal pain. Dr. Rice discharged my 94 year old mother, he prescribed some Tramadol and sent her home. She suffered for 3 days, and finally saw her GP who had her admitted and they found a fracture in her back. The guy is an idiot. He should be fired from medicine.
My 94 year old Mom went into NCH emergency with back and abdominal pain. Dr. Rice sent her home with Tramadol. She suffered badly over the weekend and went to see her GP on Monday who had her admitted, and it was found she had a lumbar fracture. This doctor shouldn't be practicing. Not only the reviews here, but on other pages as well, he gets bad reviews. Why is he still in an emergency room? I blame NCH as well, for keeping him employed.
Dr. Rice was wonderful. He listened to me. He realized something about what was going on with me that a previous doctor could not. If I had not gone to see him I'd still be in pain and not knowing what to do. I found him to be professional and compassionate . Boston hospitals could learn something from NCH emergency room.
He was unprofessional and very rude. My mother was having symptoms of a heart attack. He told her nothing was wrong with her. He insinuated that she was imaginong these symptoms. She wasn't having a panic attack. We went to another emergency room and they put her in the hospital right away. She was having symptoms of a heart attack.
We met Dr Rice last night in the ER and I have worked in the medical field for over 23 years and i never met a Doctor who lacked compassion and care for anyone. He was rude very arrogant and had no courtesy for the issue at hand. Very disappointing that someone can lack compassion and care as being a Dr in a setting that needs compassion. I have never felt any lower of a person because of how he treated my family and I.
Dr was very blunt no bedside manner didn't know what else to do for my husband

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
