Sunny Tomlinson's Online Review Report Card

I was not happy with her and the way she talked to me. I have certain conditions and medical history that make me have to really weigh the cost of any kind of suggested treatments. I did not feel like she listened or cared about my concerns. I've always had doctors who took care to listen and explain and ultimately respect the autonomy to make my own decision. She did not. She seems to get really upset if you politely decide something isn't for you and she will lecture using scare tactics and trying to back you in a corner. According to the AMA, patients have the right to refuse a treatment. They have a right to informed consent. I saw her for lab follow up that was normal but she made the appointment about something else entirely that I am not even at risk for, and tried to push a treatment I wasn't comfortable with. And used intimidation, it felt like, to get me to agree. I have found another doctor. Trust is important in a doctor/patient relationship.

Her office staff is very nice. At first, she seemed friendly, smiling and laughing and wanting to be thorough. Passive aggression and condescension came through that implied she is the ultimate authority in all things when we wanted to discuss and be an active participant in our medical decisions. I felt coerced, gaslit, and uncomfortable discussing medical issues with her. That's huge when you are establishing a relationship with a physician, to feel like you can be open and transparent. We gave it several appointments (4 family members) to be sure. 3 of the 4 of us didn't care for her bedside manner. Super fast talker, constant nervous laughing. Just seemed to be very odd behavior that made us very uncomfortable We've always had good relationships with past physicians, so this godlike attitude is not one we are comfortable with. She's fired and we've found a new PCP that we're comfortable with

She is very hyperactive and talks 90 mph! She will only discuss 2 concerns with a patient at an appointment. She has no bedside manners!!! Instead of offering suggestions she fusses at patients!! On two separate visits she has complained that she is busy and doesn’t have time for more questions. She has told me twice now she needs time to think when in the room with me! What does that mean? I am seeking another doctor. Oh she tells me today she no longer has phones in her office! I really think she is on some sort of drug!

I have given this doctor a chance for a year and a half now to take care of my health but she has failed many times now. Her office staff are horrible and totally unprofessional. I would not waste your time if you want your health taken care of.

Dr. Tomlinson is, "Top-notch" in her profession; she is timely, attentive, listens to what one is saying, and provides individualized care. Not to mention her "sunny" personality! The office staff is great too.

Extremely knowledgeable and proactive. The office is run well, great attention to detail. Efficient!

Dr. Tomlinson is personable yet professional. She really cares about me and my treatment and gives me options. No "doctor as god" complex here. I'm grateful to her and her staff.

I recently had to find a new physician since my long-time physician retired. My insurance company gave me a list to pick from and I picked St. Pete Family Care as it was close to home. Everyone was very friendly and took the time needed to process me as a new patient. Dr. Tomlinson was very nice. We went over my medical history, which is extensive, and I feel very confident that I made the right choice. I highly recommend St. Pete Family Care to everyone!

Dr. Tomkinson is very thorough,positive and interested in you issues. I like her.
