Taher Khalil's Online Review Report Card

I was hospitalized in December with AFIB ( no prior history ). Dr. Khalil treated me and is extremely thorough, compassionate and filled with wisdom. He has been my cardiologist since and always takes the time to listen and explain. I highly recommend Dr. Khalil as a cardiologist.

I have seen some "average" reviews on Dr Khalil and want to set the record straight. This is a GREAT Doctor. He is very thorough, takes time and assure you in in the best health with the best treatment. Both my Wife and I had heart conditions and he takes the time to explain any issues and when he is not sure, he runs tests to confirm any issues. I know of another patient who feels he would have been dead if not for Dr. Khalil. He has good office staff, which is important. If you want a fancy office and testy staff -- he is not for you. If you want someone who cares and will protect you... this is the man. Kudo's Dr. Khalil. Russ Brunning

Dr Khalil has only been through. He took over my case from the ER in Ormond. I had pneumonia & heart failure. He has been a savior to me and I will continue to see him.He always get records from the hospital or previous visits on his computer. He never just walks in with no info. I believe he saved my life.

I do not usually write reviews, in fact, in my life, I have only ever written maybe two. I feel though it is important that people are aware of their healthcare professionals and their ability to accurately care for their patients. My encounter with Dr. Khalil was one of the most disheartening encounters I have ever had. I have worked with many physicians over the course of my life and career, and too be on the other side of the table in the hospital in front of a doctor with ZERO compassion during a time in my life that I felt the most vulnerable that is something I NEVER want someone else to have to experience. I sat in a hospital room at AdventHealth in New Smyrna Beach for three days and out of those three days Dr. Khalil walked into my room and spoke to me for all of 3 ½ minutes. Not even enough time to gather enough information to accurately make clinical determinations on a patient. However, I chalked it up to the fact that Mr. Khalil ( I will no longer address him as a doctor because frankly, I do not feel he deserves this title) seemed disheveled, tired, run down, ragged, I’m sure the rounds at the hospital did not help but, that is the life you chose to live it and embrace it care for your patients as if they are your family because you certainly would not want your mother or sister cared for in the manner in which you care for your patients. Mr. Khalil did not make eye contact but instead spoke with his eyes rolling into the back of his head, much like someone receiving an exorcism, not very comforting to someone who has never really spent time in a hospital, who is experiencing chest pressure, and shortness of breath. Instead of gathering pertinent clinical information Mr. Khalil simply looked at me and gathered that I was overweight, ordered some tests and left the room. I had the tests done and never saw or spoke to Mr. Khalil again. I was discharged from the hospital with no explanation, no clinical diagnosis, and no understanding of what could be going on. I know that this is because I am overweight, and unfortunately, we live in a society that stigmatizes those who are overweight. While I know that being overweight has a laundry list of medical causes, I know my body, and I know the week before I was jogging, exercising and enjoying life. Had Mr. Khalil taken the time to listen to me he would have understood my back story enough to understand this went deeper than my fat body. Instead of just half reading a stress test, instead of disregarding a birth defect in my heart, instead of disregarding and sending me home with my heart still going in and out of tachycardia randomly might I add (without exertion), the list could literally go on. I just hope that someone reads this before deciding to choose Mr. Khalil as a physician, I hope that someone finds this helpful when writing their own review or after their own experience with Mr. Khalil just know it wasn’t you and you aren’t the only one. Being a physician is one of the most important careers out there, you’re literally holding someone else’s life in your hands at the very least you need to view every single patient as if it were your own life and how you would value your own life if it were on the line. If you can’t do that, then you have NO BUSINESS being in the field. With this being said, I WOULD NEVER IN A MILLION IN ONE YEARS RECOMMEND THIS DOCTOR TO ANYONE, EVER!
