Theodossis Zacharis's Online Review Report Card

My husband saw the Dr. for a serious cough and increasing shortness of breath, as well as a check on my sleep apnea. He ordered sleep studies and a CT of his lungs. When they hadn’t contacted him to schedule the CT scan 2 weeks later, I called his PA and left a message. Five days later, when neither the CT folks OR Dr. Zachiris’ PA had called, both my Endocrinologist and I called again. Nothing. A month after my initial appointment, I had a followup, at which time I told the Dr. about the CT and lack of response from him. He blamed it on Advent Hospital and wrote orders AGAIN. It’s been 2 weeks and again, no call. Last Friday, my Endocrinologist’s PA checked on me, and when I told her what hadn’t happened and that my breathing was worse, she called my cardiologist, who sent me straight to Halifax Hospital. I have at least a liter of undefined fluid in my lungs. This could have been found 5-6 weeks ago. I like Dr. Zachiris. He came highly recommended and seemed both caring and knowledgeable. BUT, a physician is only as good as the staff he surrounds himself with. They have failed me on multiple occasions, and they also failed my Endocrinologist.

He is one of the better pulmonologist around the Daytona Beach and New Smyrna Beach area. Dr. Kacharis seems to really care for his patients well being. He Takes the time to hear what you have to say and what determines what's the best treatment that will work for you.

I researched Pulmonologists on Google because I want to know all I can about them and what their patients have already experienced. My research showed that for the most part people were very pleased with his staff, his knowledge and his treatment. I made the appointment for my boyfriend. Ashley, his PA, was very professional but also very personable. Dr. Zacharis was down to business and said he can look at records from both hospitals and left the room to do that. Within minutes he returned to explain the lung scarring and what his plan of attack was. He called our pharmacy and called for a nebulizer to be delivered. By the next day we had begun everything. So far Dr Zacharis is everything I expected him to be and for that reason I feel better looking forward in our health journey!

Got me in same day I called. Was hooked up for infusion in just over half hour after arrival.Dr.Zakarias office & staff most efficient & competent. *****

I'm so impressed with Dr Z, Ashley, and the entire staff. Not only with with their treatment, professionalism and friendliness, but they really went above and beyond. I had a medication that my insurance denied and instead of me having to go thru all the hassle of getting it approved, Dr. Z's office handled the situation for me. I didn't have to do a thing. Thank you.

I was very happy with my initial appointment In New Smyrna Beach office with the doctor and his technicians. Front desk was efficient and appointment was a very short wait. It is a very busy office with many doctors. Will try Port Orange for follow up because I felt it was overcrowded within the seating area. I had a state of the art lung evaluation. The doctor explained the result and also a pet scan that showed some items that needed follow up . I needed a follow up study for sleep apnea which he ordered. I feel he is very qualified and would recommend him highly.

Dr. Zaharias is wonderful. He understands what is wrong even when I’m not sure. He is an amazing listener, which is not easy to find. He’s a caring, educated and above all, kind doctor. Please don’t hesitate to call him to help you.

I have been a patient for 6 years and Dr Zacharis is the kind of doctor people brag about having. You trust him. He is smart. He is on top of current information. He is forthright with information, compassionate and acts with speed when you need it. I am older and get confused, so if I respect him and he can put up with me, that is a testimonial in of itself.

Dr. Zachrius is a great doctor. Highly recommended. Staff is great as well.
