The original waiting room was a nightmare in the Mount Sinai Hospital building. So crowded sometimes you couldn’t find a seat. The uptown office they moved to, was like a parking lot strip mall vibe. I was infected during my colonoscopy with him and he had to prescribe antibiotics. I have mixed feelings about him selling the powder ingredients in Viagra in different measurements— I think it’s a conflict of interest. Also, I just think it’s weird. all that being said, I think he is extremely knowledgeable as a urologist. There was always a high demand for him. I felt he wants to “scope” (cystoscopy) everyone, but that’s just my opinion. he does all his urine, kidney ultrasound, and cystoscopes in-house. The last time I saw him at Mount Sinai he had a Russian person substitute. And the last time I saw him, it was in that outdoor strip mall clinic, didn’t feel very professional. Happy to say that I left Florida before Covid, but if I went back I would consider seeing him again.

this man should not be practising medicine he missed diagnost me and scheduled me for unnecessary surgery when I got a second opinion that dr. could not believe his diagnoses he said I had an enlarged prostate that needed surgery he was completely wrong just doing it for the money I wouldn't send any one to this poor excuse for a dr.

Dr. Wirtshafter has been my urologist for many years and has performed several procedures on me. He is by far the most compassionate, qualified and thorough doctor I have been to. He even called me at home to follow up on how I was doing. Most doctors in this day and age don't do that. I would highly recommend him to anyone needing the services of a urologist.

I would not hesitate in recommending Dr Wirtshafter to anyone in need of medical treatment in which he specializes in. The staff at his office is also courteous and friendly .
