List of Hanimi Challa's Reviews
Excellent doctor listens well
I took my husband to see Dr. Challa because his PCP was very negative in the last visit and didn't give my husband any options when he said that he did not like the medication she recommend as a appetite stimulant. He statement was "loss of appetite is your body's way of telling you that you are reaching the end of your journey". Well that didn't fly with me! When we met with Dr. Challa it was completely different. He was very positive and up beat, dedicated quite a bit of time to us allowing my husband to ask questions and pose different scenarios with his disease. When he told Dr. Challa " I had this cancer and that cancer" Dr. Challa's response was "you had them, you don't have them now, you're not as sick as you think". In parting he told my husband "my goal is to have you gain weight and increase you stamina so you can have the surgery you need" . I felt that he was caring and optimistic. My husband has gained weight and stamina and we are waiting for an appointment with the orthopedic surgeon.
I went to Dr Challa for a very long time and EVERYTIME I went, he whipped out a script from his pocket and wrote out something. It got to the point where all I had to do was call and the script was called into pharmacy. When I ask questions about a diagnosis he gave me, he was very vague and walks away. I think it's time for Dr Challa to retire. I'm currently searching for another physician.
Very unhappy with Dr. Challa. Currently searching for another physician. He's quick with prescriptions but not with answers to questions. He appears to only want to spend a specific amount of time with each patient regardless of patients concerns.
My mom and dad had Dr. Challa as their primary physician for over 15 years. I had no idea how many things were mismanaged specifically with my mom until she ended up in the hospital- diabetes care not monitored on a regular basis, lithium testing not done resulting in kidney damage, too many meds prescribed which lead to more problems. We are now trying to get the appropriate medical care and address the medical issues that resulted from Dr. Challa's negligence.
He was nice on the first few visits... but hesitant to help by getting me a second opinion from a specialist. Went in with what my family calls RA of which about 30 family members have at this time Asked about getting in to see an arthritis specialist and doing a blood test for Rheumatoid Arthritis. Was told that he has over 40 yrs experience and I do not need any of that done. All I wanted was to see some one who deals with arthritis on a daily basis. Pain was so bad I could not sleep.
Gets offended if you ask questions.. Doesn't like to give referrals. Thinks he's one stop shop. Husband had abdominal aneurysm that was caught by another Dr after instance of getting a 2 nd opinion. His response was "don't know how I missed it".. Instead of getting to the root of problems just prescribes more pills.. Never x-rays or outside testing.. I would not recommend Dr Challa..
Doctor is old school and difficult to communicate with. When you want to discuss a matter he takes it as questioning his authority. I am a high risk with colon problems and he did not want me to have a colonoscopy as I received notice from my specialist, but I insisted as I had polyps last time and this time it is full blown diverticulitis and with an endoscopy now have Barrett's esophagus. He also would not allow a bone density test. Also he said it would be my last colonoscopy. Amazing. Changed physicians.
One of the best Doctors I have ever had
I have sinus problems asthma and lately brochitis twice.. I want to see a Specialist and he won't let me. he says he can solve the problem but isn't my right to see a specialist and get another opinion on my options and how to care for my immune system?

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
