MImi Balch's Online Review Report Card

I saw Dr. Balch twice. That was more than enough to convince me she was not a very good doctor. Bottom line she said I had stage 3 kidney disease based on my blood results. She never ordered a urinalysis to rule out or confirm this. My new doctor did. Guess what? My urinalysis results are excellent. My kidneys are working just fine. Aside from that she is not friendly at all and very impersonal never called me by my name. I wouldn’t put my life in her hands!

If you are looking for a doctor who will refer you to a specialist or recommend tests to run, then she is fine. If you want someone who will listen to your concerns as a patient, reviews your labs ahead of time, explains diagnosis to you or acts like she cares about you in the least bit, then you are probably better off looking elsewhere.

The last 3 visits to Dr. Balch were a nightmare. I waited from 45 min to an hour before I even saw the Dr. She only spent 110-15 min with me so I don't understand why she is always behind, especially when my last appt was at 9 AM. How can you get 45 min behind schedule at that hour of the morning. The only thing she does is order tests and give you the results. She always sends you to a specialist. Never apologies for keeping you waiting and when you complain she gets very defensive and tells you that she has patients much sicker than you. Do I care? No, I just want to be seen within 15-20 minutes of my appt time. Perhaps she should learn how to schedule her patients better. I will be finding another doctor.

I am really impressed! Today was my first visit, along with my spouse. Well I have to say she accomplished more in the first visit than my last doctor did in the year of my seeing her.. Right on top of preventative medicine. Mammograms? Bone density tests? I waited a long time for these things to even be of concern. I have hope that now my issues may be addressed and treated! Very professional! She is on top of her game! I hope to have less stress over my healthcare issues not being addressed. Thank you for listening to us today.

She does not listen or seem to care about your concerns. You feel like your bothering her. The women on the computer is rude and actually rolled her eyes at me when she left the room. Never a good experience at her office! I would not recommend her.

Dr Balche was amazing as my doctor for 4 years. She went away in 2021 from May to July for vacation and failed to tell her patients that she was out of office. Tried to contact her nurse ‘Sarah’ several times over a 3 week period to inquire about a prescription, with no response. Eventually spoke to the ladies at reception to let them them know I had not received a call back after 3 weeks and 4 persistent phone calls. They actually put me through to ‘Sarah’. She told me ,for the first time to my knowledge, that Dr Balche was on vacation since the 8th of June, and was only expected back on the 8th of July. I asked her why she didn’t reply or respond to my calls placed in early June and her exact words were, ‘would anything I told you have sufficed?’.. my gosh, I didn’t even have a comment. It still blows my mind that her nurse said this.

Dr. Balch used to be a good doctor who would take time to listen to her patients. But, between her tendency to look for any small reason to run tests at their location and the fact that she was downright short with me the last time I visited her office, I took my business elsewhere; I changed doctors AND practices! Plus, my current doctor knew what was wrong immediately! When you're trying to explain a condition to a doctor and she doesn't get what the problem is, she should try to find out instead of treating you like you're wasting her time. That is exactly how I felt - both she and her nurse, who appeared to be having a bad day! If I'm paying to see the doctor, then there IS a real health problem. Dr. Balch needs to start listening to her patients again; I WILL NOT have a doctor who treats me like I'm a waste of time. The only reason I gave her two starts instead of one is because I know she is capable of being a much better doctor than she acted the last couple of times I saw her.

Patient, understanding, and very intelligent. Very up to date on newest medical news and i willing to put into practice.
