List of Ocala Oncology/Florida Cancer Affiliates Main's Reviews
I was referred to Ocala Oncology upon my release from West Marion Commnity Hospital. I made three separate phone calls trying to schedule an appointment and not one call was returned. On my third attempt I asked to speak to a scheduling supervisor who was not available at the time. I asked that the supervisor get back to me to explain why I was not given the courtesy of a return call. I was told she would call - she never did. Perhaps this is an omen. How can oneI trust a medical associatiion who cares so little for its patients - or potential patients. Your organization has offered a sad comentary for someone who is sick and looking for help. You should be ashamed!
I understand it was Covid taking place during this time but still...I was going for blood work, anemia, iron transfusions, and never did get answers as to what is going with fatty liver tests. Feel like I was just dropped.
I have been a long term patient of Dr. Anju Vasudevan. How fortunate I am to be under the care of her hematological expertise! But, besides being a superb oncology physician, Dr. Anju is caring and personable. She greets you with a smile, maintains eye contact while reviewing lab work, asks about your family and never rushes through an appointment. This demeanor is reflected in her staff as well. Many of whom have worked with her for years.Dr. Anju Vasudevan, Ocala Oncology/Florida Cancer Affiliates and all staff members are welcoming, warm and top-notch professionals.
After blood work showed readings that indicated major issues, they waited another 6 weeks before telling us we needed to be in the hospital...and then still did not help us get admitted. Dr. Balarama washed her hands of our situation and the nurses are not experienced. Would not recommend to anyone
Was going there for about 4 months seeing the doctor's and going through all their test and other doctors to get started on my treatment had cancer going on for years before going to this place from switching over from another doctor he wanted me to go to a pain management but I had to go through my regular doctor what took 2 months to get in to see them cuz he was a new doctor the cancer doctor over at this place stopped and did not want to give me prescription for my pain pills because my other doctor took so long so I try to make it like it's my fault when it's the doctors and the other hospitals I'm going to buy their appointments not by my appointments by their appointments so I will never go back to this place again
I have been a patient here for 6 years and I am very thankful for the care I have received. Dr. Balarama keeps a close watch on my recovery and I have great confidence in her. Ms Darcy, her scheduler, has been extremely helpful and kind.I know in these Covid times there can be delays in getting to the appointment time, but I also realize that delays are usually caused by the patient ahead of me needing more time with the Doctor. And people sometimes bring up new issues that have not been discussed previously. I don't like to wait, but the wait time is always well worth it. I am very grateful to Dr. Bala and her staff for the excellent care I receive here.
They are the best.
Dr. Anju Vasudevan is a thorough hematologist.
I’ve been going to the oncology center for a few years now today I must have hugged my nurse a dozen times over just adjusting my meds to make me feel more comfortable at the time of my infusion there it’s the small things.. I lost my daughter last year she holds my hand and talks to me about her plus there are others there it’s just a great team of drs and nurses I could talk about them all day!
The people here are all great, from the receptionists, to the doctors and everyone in between. They have always been so caring and we are very happy with our doctor. We go to the office that is in Lady Lake, near the Villages. Small, clean, friendly.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
