List of Physician Partners Of America's Reviews
Beware! My doctor required cash only payments unless you were covered under his insurance plans. After he retired I moved to another provider outside Physician Partners Group. Almost a year later they are calling me demanding payment! Of course I have no records/receipts of the cash transaction. Payment is demanded or they will turn me over to collections! All the good doctors have left, there are many other professional center available. My advise, is to find another medical provider!
I was hopeful at first that Dr. Nieves would be the one to help with my neuropathy, but I was beyond disappointed. the first visit was more than 4 hours in waiting time and 15 minutes with him. he prescribed nok narcotic meds but insisted i see him every 30 days and have urine sample every 30 days for a refill. as many did, i was laid off from my employer and had to take cobra for a few months to cover doctor visits. on one of the visits while on cobra, i explained to them I would be self pay and then once cobra was active I would file the claim for reimbursement myself. well, they filed the claim and it denied for no coverage. they sent me a statement for the full balance and I had to do the leg work and get the claim reprocessed to pay. fast forward a few weeks and another statement arrives for over 200.00. they were attempting to balance bill me for an insurance contractual adjustment. something that is against the law since they signed a contract with UHC to accept payment. the "billing company " they used was nothing but run around after run around. i did the leg work and got UHC involved only for them to be ingorned as well. i sent the EOB and letter from UHC explaining what they were doing illegally. i spoke with a supervisor named Lena for months on end only to be told my account was in review.. more than 90 days in review.. I finally got a hold of a manager named Angela only to be told they were no longer the billing company for this group and she could not help me. she did give me a phone number to call for the new company. Sadly after speaking to a rep who was obviously reading a prepared speech, i am not holding out much hope at all of ever seeing my refund avoid dr. nieves and tx pain relief group.
This doctor office lost ALL of my financial records from 2018 and 2019. I was a self pay patient during this time and received a bill for thousands of dollars. Thank GOD I used a debit card to pay. I had to pay to get bank statements for 2 years. Go through them and circle proof of payment. I went into the branch in Richardson and kindly requested Alejandra (however you spell her name) and requested she fax my bank statements to her billing office. Her and the lazy black girl at the desk said it was their lunch break and they wouldn't do it. I pleaded with them because it's their fault their billing department doesn't have proof of payment and I would happily wait until their lunch was over. They told me they simply would not do it. I want to take legal action because they lost my protected health information. Their office staff is rude, lazy, and ignorant. They can't keep a physician in their office and it changes frequently so you can't ever establish care. This place is a zero. No one knows what's going on and they all are simply stupid. No intelligence. A one star is generous. Luckily, I found another practice to go to that seems they keep better records. Talking about records, I requested my medical records to be mailed to me 3 months ago and they were never sent. I guess they lost those records too. Do not go to this place! Horrible people there!
This is one of many reviews that I will put against this place. Everything was great for the first 2 months with Dr. Shalev. I am an ex-football player of 10 years I fought MMA and boxed for 12 years I have a herniated disc and degenerative disc disease. All the sudden there is a new doctor there and he will not listen to anything and made me feel like I was a liar. I felt very uncomfortable and my medicines were cut in half. Also he tells me he is taking me off of the only medication that works. He also is trying to put me on psych medicines for my back pain. The biggest joke I have ever seen and heard. I am on disability and I go here because they take my disability I will be paying cash somewhere else and not dealing with somebody that makes me feel like I am not good enough for treatment. They've given me point injections and everything but now all the sudden my issues are not bad enough for my pain medication. I will be going somewhere else and I will not call this other doctor a doctor. He couldn't give me respect as a person so I will not give him respect as a doctor. It is 3 in the morning and I am still up with neck and back pain because he cut my meds in half I am not happy at all with how he handled me.
When I first started going was in September 2017 and the question I was asked was what kind of pain did I have. I asked don't you mean where is my pain located because the kind of pain I have is the kind that hurts. I told them my pain was located in my stomach area on the left side but because of the change in the law my family dr. would not be able to continue with my hydrocodone. I could tell that Dr Nevies didn't want to treat me but he did. I have been having trouble with my pancreas and yearly biopsies were being performed. Every visit they would try to find other meds to give me and cut back on my norco. Thet gave me tramadol and told me to try it. So one day before my next visit instead of taking my norco I took the tramadol. The next visit I had they told me that since norco and tramadol were in my system at the same time that I was not in compliance. I told Angela that I only took it because they told me to. Angela then told me she needed to go talk to Dr Nevies. After about 20 minutes she came back in and told me that they had found oxycodone in my system a few months ago. I knew that was not true and ask why they didn't say anything then. She had no answer. I told her that instead of lying and inventing excuses all she had to do was say I'm sorry but we do not treat people with pain located in the abdomen area. Please be aware of Dr Nevies and his nurse Angela. They do not care about people.
I have chronic pain due to neck/nerve damage and a torn tendon in my hip. This office wanted to do a nerve ablation on my sciatica nerve when that was not even the issue. They will try to bully you into allowing spine shots (91,800.00) and if you need paperwork completed for items FMLA or other reasons be prepared to pay them 25.00 a sheet and you will have to stay on top of them and nag them to get them to complete the paperwork. They do not care about their patients. Patients beware that is all I have to say.
One star is generous. My date of service was 3/2017 (should have written this long ago!!!) I was approached in the exam room and asked to sign a form for consent to swab my cheek, in order to run a test that would help determine which medications my body would respond best to for my pain. No information in regard to what that may cost, etc. i signed the form and they took the swab. Then, I agreed to have steroid /pain med injected into my back. I left the exam room, and felt funny in the waiting room, came extremely close to passing out; dropped everything in my hands and another PATIENT helped me stand. i was taken back to a different room, and my BP was low, and i began shivering uncontrollably, heart racing. I was TERRIFIED. I'm an RN, and had never felt this way in my life. I had to have my fiance come pick me up. To add insult to injury on this horrible experience....about a month later, I received a bill, for this DNA lab test...for $9,880.00!!!!!!Disputed the charge in person, and reported them to the Better Business Bureau. The charges eventually got "adjusted", but I then received a bill from lab for $110. I've disputed that over the phone, and had charges reversed. Completely CORRUPT business. NOT interested in helping people, only scamming for BIG BUCKS. Disgusting.
Failed to file a medication prescription until after I am out. Plus new doctor (???) Clavo, can't write prescriptions. Has to go to head doctor and he can't be bothered until after their pharmacy closes. So I am left to go cold turkey and must go to the ER if I get in trouble. Long sequence of malpractice and negligence below.Saw Clavo in Arlington office on 12/26/18 it was agreed to submit new prescriptions. I advised him I was almost out so please expedite and I will be out On 12/29.Pharmacy called 12/27 saying they have no order, call made to resend.Friday12/28 still nothing. I go to office at 11 am and Clavo refuses to talk to me. After getting substitute office manager and pharmacy on speaker phone manager now tells me the new system has been down for days and will submit new orders to your affiliate Stonebriar. Clavo cannot authorize it has to go to Rivera.Rivera cannot be disturbed until after 5 pm by which time your pharmacy is closed. I call around to find medication in stock and offer to go anywhere to get it. But no one can order it without escript. I was finally told Clavo would go see Rivera and I should leave and call after 4 pm.At 4:15 pm I call to find phones are turned off. I again go to office and am told they have no further information and they are closing.I still do not know if any prescriptions have been submitted and I expect to have severe withdrawals this weekend. Is Clavo practicing without a license since he cannot write prescriptions?Does Rivera routinely and negligently allow patients to go off meds because he is busy? Will you pay for my ER visit? And any complications I suffer from this? Plus all of my running to your office and spending hours finding your corporate systems are inoperative?
I am a Dallas Native and just moved back from Washington DC after spending the last two years working and living in the DC metro area. While in DC, i went to a wonderful PMC called Advanced Spine and Pain but now that i am back in Dallas full time, it would be a little difficult to board a plane to DC just to see a doctor when i now have limited business up there, etc. So, last week i set up an appointment with the Carlton location today for 2pm. Thankfully, i called to confirm my apt before i left this morning and they scheduled me for 1 pm, not 2. I get there early, fill out all the forms, take the UA test, meet my physician and the first thing he tells me is that this would be his last month at TPRG. I tried to make small talk with him and he wasn't interested, wasn't in a good mood and kept interrupting me while i was explaining many things about my condition. I could tell he was agitated. It was sad because i was excited to meet an Israeli Jew as i have made several trips to the Middle East and Israel, etc. He didn't seem interested to get to know me. When it was all said and done, he was not interested in treating me or treating my pain. I have been on pain meds for the past year and since i moved back, i have not taken any in over a month. I politely asked him to refill my last script of Vicodin 7.5 60ct and he denied my request then tried to set me up for an injection that i routinely received in the office at APAP but their system was under anesthesia, in a hospital, not guided by ultra sound and very very expensive, exceeding a 1k vs. 261.00 at ASAP. He also wanted to discuss a procedure that would of exceeded 50k and not covered by insurance. By the time i got to the front desk, i was so ready to leave that I left without even paying for my visit. The front desk either failed to do their job and take my payment or they realized they didn't really deserve to be paid and just waived my fee. I honestly would rather buy a plane ticket every month and return to ASAP. I still have a resident address in DC so that is what i'm going to do. This place stinks and i should have done my due diligence to see that their reviews are horrible and consistent with the terrible overall service i received today. The thing i will say is that i did enjoy the nurse that attended to me today. She was really kind and interactive and could tell she cared. My prediction on this place. Bankruptcy. Sincerely, David A. Harden
This is an update, see my previous comments below from 2 months ago: This practice has become the place of nightmares. You go in and talk to the practitioner, leave and go home and think they are actually trying to care for you, but surprise! Not a good one either. I went in just over a month ago to see Dr. Nieves and thought that we had worked out a care plan to help control my chronic pain. He said he was going to order a brand-specific medication that was better absorbed so that I wouldn't have to take a higher dosage. I got my RX filled and it was the same medication I have been on for years. He didn't reorder the medication that had been previously ordered to go with the same medication for break-through pain. So after just two weeks, I got to pay another copay to talk to a different provider to see if they would order that medication. She ordered it BUT told me that I would have to come back in two weeks, pay another copay, for my regular monthly visit. This practice is horrible about calling back patients after they call to ask questions on the helpline. The communication is horrendous. They do not document what was discussed when you call, so you have to start from the beginning every time. The consistency in care, along with the lack of communicating changes to patients before they leave the office is worse than horrendous,-5 stars. My visit last week with Angela, the second time I have seen her because they are having problems keeping PA's...well, when the medication was called in, the provider, Angela, had decreased my dosage for my primary pain medication to a quarter of what I have been taking. A month ago and 2 weeks ago the dosage was okay, but last week, NOPE! Wait it gets better...After I called to ask why and request that my dosage remain the same, they canceled the RX, and as of today, over a week later have not sent in another RX. So, today I will take the last of my primary pain medication. I have talked to the office and told them I was running out of medication, but I still don't have anything at the pharmacy. Sure, I have the medication for break-through pain, but if I take more than the 2 ordered per day, I break my contract with them. It will not help much with my chronic pain either. This morning I will be going into the office again, just over a week after my last visit, to sit and wait for a cancellation to try to get my needs met. Yes, it will be extremely painful to sit and wait. Because I cannot drive, my sister in law will possibly miss work and my chronically ill husband will suffer, but they are coming with me because they see that I am not receiving the care I am paying for. This practice's tagline is "We don't just treat the pain, we treat the patient". This is how they treat the patients. I see from other recent reviews that my nightmare is shared by many others. This is from 2 months ago: I had previously given this practice 5 stars. So, what changed? Over the past several months wait time to be seen has increased. The last 3 visits I have waited 45 minutes to 1 1/2 hours. My pain medication dosage was decreased without ANYONE discussing it with me beforehand. This is a pain medication that has worked well at that strength for 5+ years, that I have taken responsibly. I called to discuss what I understood to be an error with them and I was told I would have to make another appointment and the dosage would not be changed. I am very dissatisfied with the poor communication and disorganized state of this practice now. I used to feel like the care provider actually cared about managing my pain, now that isn't the case. The PA wanted to do another MRI. I communicated with her that I have panic attacks in the closed MRI. I would need to go to an open MRI. When I was called by the imaging center to make an appointment, I asked if they had an open MRI, I was told, no, they did not. I called the office to let them know this, and after 3 days, I still don't have an appointment for an open MRI. I had previously stated that they had treated me as a person, with caring and respect. I don't believe this is true anymore.
